I think there is a standard "spin" on the mechanical turning so any like for like speedo works. only exception would be a kPH speedo, but you can get mechanical converters.

it is poss to open up the speedo. Jeepurz told us how in a previous thread drewps

when you tighten the nut underneath. the rubber is compressed and tightens up in the top yolk. just checked mine and I have to give a fairly big tug to get them to move. I wonder if the yolk holes have worn larger due to slack bushes? I'm sure I have a pair in the shed., I'll measure the diameter for you they are 32mm

glad you got something out of it. I had to do similar things for my (then) part 1 off road test!

its cheaper to get a "top end" gasket kit rather than separate items. then you get everything you need ( or thought you didn't need) don't forget you also need a torque wrench for the head. drewps
