When I was little, we used to play a game called "knock and run" where you knock on someones door and run away before they answered. Nowadays, its known as "Parcelforce" ----------------------------- Your Mum's so fat, when she fell down the stairs I thought EastEnders was ending. ----------------------------- You will never guess who I just saw at the petrol station - it was that human torch guy from the Fantastic 4 film. I tried to get his autograph but he just kept rolling around on the floor screaming. ----------------------------- I got chased by a mugger the other day trying to steal my wallet Half way through the terrifying ordeal I couldn't help but think to myself " hes giving me a good run for my money" ----------------------------- I saw a slide with an 85 degree incline for sale the other day for £1000. I thought, that's a bit fucking steep?

sounds like the vaccum tap isn't working or connected. there should be a pipe at the back of the tap going to the inlet stub, if that's not split or come off, then a repair kit from xs650.de is in order not sure which carbs you have, but you've may have lost the little spring and ball bearing which presses against an indent on the choke rod. drewps

you don't need to undo the cover. pop off the rubber bung on there and you will see a 10mm nut and screw slot. get a box spanner and slacken off the nut, with the screw driver through the box spanner lightly tighten, then back off 1/4 turn. holding the driver tighten the nut so it don't move. replace the bung slack at the clutch lever = 5mm drew

I'd say you need to take off both carbs and strip them down. get the manual in the sticky as it will show the different parts in the carbs. clean the outside first, then strip 1 carb at a time, and clean using carb cleaner and compressed air. strip down the brass parts and make sure you blow all orifices with air and cleaner. all it takes is a little specs to cause problems. run carb cleaner through all the carb galleries. its not too hard except for undoing the cheese head screws on the carbs!! use an impact driver if you have to ( but carefully) you can do this in an evening. id also fit an inline fuel filter in case there is crud in the fuel tank.
