  2. i would say go back to basics, retime the valve train could be 180' out. I'd also check the ignition timing just to be sure. can't help with a how-to sorry
  3. not just the m6, also that boring bit along dumfries, and then the m/way to colraine. all the ferries are booked up, and have paid for the flights keeping fingers crossed.

  6. Yep, Mike and I are goonf to the NW200 in colraine next weekend. Not going on the bikes this time as sitting for 11 hours in the pissing rain on the M6 was not fun. So we're flying and guess what, the frigging Volcano has closed the airports. I think I am jixed going to NI

  15. i wouldn't use a cross bar, it'l damag the rim and tyre. just take it to an ats place and ask nicely, they'll do it for nowt if your polite. you can't do this with no tools. you will if you use a crow bar, anyways, you need at least 2 irons, i use 3!!
  16. if your really worried about stripping the cross head, just take out the lock nut completly and the screw will come with it( or if its ok will stay behind). loosen the screw up and then adjust as normal!! drewps
  17. rim to tyre applications. http://www.dropbears.com/u/utilities/tyrerim.htm I had seen a 120 tyre on the rear BUT you have to junk the chain guard
  18. you'll be missing no 9 in this fiche? and 16 to 14 of this fiche
  19. bump start it if your desparate ( in 2nd gear)
  20. use rim protectors or some peeps use a water hose cut length wise. also need 2 or 3 tyre irons, they are expensive on ebay but only a tenner from stafford show etc. have a looksy on you tube for a how to!
  21. has it had a service so all the parameters are as factory spec? that's the first thing i do with a bike, can't start diagnosing without the basics in place. I got a call from a friend of a friend who changed a battery on his gilera and "suddenly" there was no electrics! he had a "mechanic" friend look it over and he could'nt fix it after a month I went over after being pestered and i moved a wire over to earth on the battery terminals and the bike had full electrics!! what am saying is, just don't over look the obvious (and don't trust well meaning self proclaimed mechanics)
  22. a hanging starter button? not sure what you mean? on/off switch! , is that the ignition switch or the cut out switch?
  23. 10k revs does seem excessive. i'm assuming you start in 1st (1 down) and then lift the gear lever and letting it return after each gear change? it needs this so the gearbox pawl can return and hook the next part of the gear change drum. ('ll stop there before i overcomplicate things) check the gear lever isn't loose 60mph isn't too far from the top speed coz they are restricted to around there
