  2. the only 2 stroke i can get is my bro's 49cc mobylette nothing planned that weekend, so may give it a go. looks like I'm not working the day of Lotherton, so weather permitting, I'm going to that
  3. there is no air screw, that is metred by the air jet situated inside the intake mouth of the carb. the pilot screw on the body near the engine regulates the fuel. the idle screw just generally raises or lowers the revs like a throttle!

thinking out of the box; if you can get a wide thread holed oil filter, could you not make a mushroom shaped adaptor with the correct internal thread for the bike, with the external correct for the filter?

check ebay for master cylinder rebuild kits. firstly, I'd strip the old one down to check the bore for corrosion btw to the YOC

all xs400's use a mikuni bs34 carbs, but there are differencs due to emmisions legislation over time. you can get a set of carbs from another 400 to fit yours, I have fitted soem dohc carbs to my tracker with a little modding (the dohc's are narrower) twin means 2 cyl engine

    north i'd say
  16. i posted a pikkies of a virago which had a rear wheel for the front. if you have wire wheels, then lacing a different rim should present no probs except for any clearance issues you may have!!
  17. just swap 'em with allens

Kin 'ell mate, you got a friday bike!! ( ask OG about Friday vehicles )
  19. also note that the engine won't turn over with the clutch disengaged/missing as the kick gear moves the gears through the tranny via the clutch to the main drive pinion at the end of the crank!!
  20. you sure its a 1.6? 1.85 is standard as far as I know!
  21. usually 90/90's, i got a 3:50 x 18 on the front of my tracker, it fits under the front mudgaurd, but I've yet to ride it so i don't know what the handlings like!!
  22. rolled off the table and onto the floor. into the kitchen and out of the door. rolled in the garden and under a bush then your little steel ball is nothing but mush.... mush mush!!
  23. you don't really need a torque wrench for the screw although it only 6lbs ft so don't go mad!! do it yourself its really easy if a little fiddly, try and buy the angled gauges as they can be manovered easily.
  24. As i said all sohc's will fit. if the contacts can be upgraded, then i assume the reverse is true
  25. no messing there, hate to think if the thing gets caught turning, you'd get a clout then
