aye, those bloody steep roads. Used to have an 1962 mini, and you'd park it up somewhere and it'll end up another 100 metres away when you came back to it!

one thing you have to remember is. if you have something chromed and needs rechroming, the steel substrate can fizz away when subject to the cleaning chemicals. I thought you'd done them yourself via caswell kits. it does look very rusty inside the rear brake pin. At the very least they should have let you know the situation and let you decide how to proceed!

the parts do need to be prepped quite well. a bit of linishing does the trick, I know its not possible on bearing surfaces, so i think renewal or chrome is the way to go!

  14. that's what I did when i rebuilt my engine on the xs. put mineral oil in and thrashed it for 20 miles, drained the oil and put in semi synth. had the bike 4 years now and it don't smoke!

I think its just clutch drag, and your going against the direction of the clutch which exasperates the issue! hey hornix did you like the picture I sent you of your dad in retro?
  17. triple s charge about £100 plus postage for powder coating, so that's sounds great. Trust me get it done by motorcycle powder coaters, not garden gate vendors. I had a test peice done from one of the garden gate coaters and it was shite, more orange peel than oranges!! Your would need to csand blast that frame anyway, so let the pro's do it. Just make sure you degrease everything first or the powder will take on a sheen when its heated up. BTW, start looking for new stancions on ebay etc as they will need doing and to rechrome is another £135!! drewps
