is it charging now? regulators are not cheap, around £80 mark so with labour, it sounds reasonable. Granted he should have let you know before he commenced work, just don't go back there again and buy your self a multimeter and test for power for the speedo. check connections and the sender unit. (not familiar about the bike BTW)

possibly the starter has been left running when the bike has started, which in effect, has "burnt the basta' oot" as you say in Scotland

the xs400 has 2 of these and have rubber bungs put in. must be something to do with machining in the factory

had a great ride down on Saturday and met up with John (blackhat250). bloody knackering as usual and was a tad windy, but missed the shite weather Sunday!

parts # needle (4Z1-4) 1M0-14116-02 needle jet 341-14941-90 (X-8) called a mains nozzle you can get those from Allens performance or already mentioned here too

yep, new battery time, flatten a M/C battery and they end up sulphated and knackered. get yourself an optimate and keep it trickle charged.
