Got a test ride booked on 09 R1 at carrick in edinburgh but they sell all there bikes so no demo bike yet also r6ricky time you changed your name

Top bike m8, have wanted R1 for a while but don,t know if i could justify it or convince wife Anyway prob a bit early to say yet is there a big difference between R6 and R1 on road and if so what ? What made your mind up about moving to R1 ?

I have a 2001 R6 with a few mods evotech tail tidy & mini indicators at back,flush fit at front, renntech grab rail, ohlins steering damper with harris polished fitting kit,ohlins fork internal springs, swing arm bobbins. was planning on doing a front end transplant this winter eg upside down forks to keep the bike looking modern,was wondering if any members have done this mod ? if so would appreciate as much info as possible have seen conversion done with R1 forks, can you do it with later R6 forks or is it a total waste of time ? cheers

I have an EVO TECH tail tidy on my 2001 R6 and think its very good i got it from evil bay worth a look,if you cant find them let me no will post email address

I have a 2001 R6 and they are not as small as up to date r6 or r1, i am 5'10 and cant put both feet flat on ground i also think older R6 are better road bikes as power is not all at top end get to a local bike shop and try sitting on a few dif bikes also imho in the right hand an R6 will keep up with anything on the road

Went to Lochranza ferry over to Claonaig then on to lochgilphead get some petrol then on to inveraray on past Loch Lomond through part of Glasgow and on to largs via B roads pick up my daughter as it was her birthday and both of us ride to Ardrossan for ferry back to Arran weather was perfect and the scenery well i now know why they call it GREAT BRITAIN

The scots tight ? what parts of scotland do you come to ? and back to subject of ebay i got both my daughters bikes of ebay and most spares broken bits etc travelled to Devises in Wiltshire to pick up mint NSR125 and was well worth the journey of over 1000 miles in my transit van, in fact is that could be subject of new post furthest distance to pick up an item won on ebay !!

You havin a go merv Jockanese ? wtf is that ? anyway new to forum and think it is great luved the old two strokes tdr was crackin wee bike i got back into biking when my daughter got a Aprilia rs 50 in telephonica colours so i bought r6 she now moved up to a NSR125 which is great fun but the R6 is incredible bike used to have an eddie lawson rep years ago and cant believe how much bikes have improved anyway great site and promise to stop being cheeky

not long joined this site and have been reading posts on R6, did you get a steering damper for your R6 ? i bought a 2001 r6 about 3 years ago and spent a lot of money on bits and pieces but have to be honest and say my steering damper was the best investment if your heavy with right wrist lol fully adjustable ohlins damper with harris fitting kit looks really trick as well cheers
