Hey peeps, me and my dad recently cleared out all of our old r/c aeroplane gear and ebayed it, one of the items we sold was bought by some bloke in sunderland, i sent him the details e.t.c and he sent a postal order, then over the space of the next 2 days he sent me 6 messages asking where his item was, i dont live at my computer so i didnt read these emails until the third day, but on the night of the second day when i was enjoying a pint down the local with my old man and some friends this utter tosser rings up my old man and starts giving him an earfull about reporting it to ebay and all sorts of shit, my dad didnt really know what to do so gave the phone to me, i then returned the bollocking due to the fact he was f'in and blindin over my dads personal phone which he pays good money for and told him his item would be sent when we get the postal order and to call back when he has manners before hanging up. then on the 4th day i received 3 ebay messages asking where it was, two on the 5th day and two today, i got a message from my dad this morning saying the postal order turned up so we can now dispatch the item and when i messaged this tosser to tell him it will be dispatched he is still being an irritable c*nt. ive had it with being polite, if people want to talk to me like shit then i am more than happy to return the favour f*ckin rant over, i need a smoke and some tender loving.

I can tell you never worked at the Olympics, having to greet the unwashed masses with a fake smile and resist the temptation to feed the horrible little shits some people call 'children' into the xray machine, every second person asking you "but why cant i bring in this 2 litre bottle full of water?" to which i eventually gave up and supplied the answer "because coca cola want to screw you for every penny you have by selling you their water instead" ah, off topic, rant over, i feel better

It is usually me handling the ladies asses to be fair, hence the lover not a fighter remark. That is true, but unless the technology gets a lot better in those 10 years i cannot see myself using one in place of my trusty kia. for example i could be out of the country for 3 months and the vehicle would be left unused, alternatively i could do 600 miles in one sitting, stopping only to fill up with LPG every 180 miles, unless an electric vehicle can be developed to cover that distance without needing a full recharge i doubt i would be sold on the idea

i know several girls who could quite easily hand my ass to me if the moment called for it, however due to the fact that i am a lover and not a fighter, it hasnt happened yet

Yeah that's the one Thats another thing that gets me, some people who have thrown their faired bike down the road simply throw the old fairings away, drop the bars and call it a "streetfighter", whilst there are some genuine streetfighters about it seems wrong to bodge the job and call it something it isnt

although tbh thats probably what i will do with the DT50 ive just bought to restore...

Slightly more work done, got the engine back from headley bodyshop and hopefully at some point this week i can make up a dolly to drill the exhaust studs and helicoil them, shotblast the cases and give it a fresh coat of enamel, made a piss poor attempt at spraying the wheels, the masking tape i have just wont stick to the alloy, and it occasionally leaks underneath it onto the parts of the wheel that shouldnt be painted.

put spacers under the springs in the front shocks and use a harder rear shock spring

The DT50 i practically gave away for £350 3 years ago can now be found on eBay going for £500-£600, i suppose anything that has an iconic status or following will be a future classic (look at the hailwood ducatis, for example) so on that note i can see the rossi reps and the like fetching good money. otherwise, its got to be the unusual bikes, the Suzuki radial engined bike (the name escapes me), the factory turbo bikes of the '80s, my XJ Turbo for example had a production era of 1980-1985 before being discontinued, i was bidding on a Suzuki XN85 a few months ago, it was an absolute dog with a fair few parts missing, went for almost £1000 which was ludicrous

I will filter trough traffic up to about 10-15mph, anything above that i see it as overtaking and look for a space to pull in (remember to leave enough room for you to stop safely if the car infront should do something drastic, and the car behind you to be able to stop safely), also whilst filtering examine every car you can, run through all the scenarios i.e. if that BMW pulls out where can i go? can i move into the other lane(s) or is the traffic too fast moving? if you cannot predict a safe way out, dont do it, cover your ass as much as you can and ride defensively

Urgh, all these links to cheap projects is starting to get to me, its friday now which means im 99.9% likely to go out tonight and get pissed, and we've all seen what happens when i've had a drink and get on eBay, that's how i ended up with 2 classic minis, 2 DT50s and an XJ turbo, almost bought a Suzuki XN85 turbo last time... imagine my relief when i woke up and saw the "You've been outbid" notification

I think you'll find i am perfectly capable of speaking 'The Queens', you can hide a lot in vocabulary dontyaknowI even went through a period of writing poetry and songs during my 1st and 2nd afghan tours, probably the only time ive really felt alive is out there. TBH for £700 it looks dappa, if it wasnt so far north i may even be tempted to buy it, tidy it up and sell it on (provided it is genuine and in good nick ofc)

Hey peeps. the cold nights are drawing in now and with one mini sold and the other one near completion im starting to look at cracking on with my other projects The XJ turbo is coming along nicely, the engine has been welded and requires only shotblasting, painting and a fresh set of fasteners before it can be refitted and the rest of the bike assembled. As for the DT, its a bit of a different story, all the parts are there and it would (hopefully) take a lot less time to strip, clean, paint and reassemble, the part-assembled wiring loom is hung up on the back of my wardrobe door and most of it is back together, but i have already started to think about modifications, i have noticed that people have in the past converted RXS100s' and some of the larger DTs from a 6 volt system to a 12v system using aftermarket reg/recs, i was wondering if i could do this with the DT50? from what i remember the lights were crap at the best of times so a 12v system would be a worthy upgrade. question is, what parts will i need to change and what parts will fit? so far i can think of: all bulbs regulator ign coil indicator relay rectifier (?) battery (no brainer) possibly the stator. depending what the unregulated output would be any thoughts or ideas? :s

may be worth a LOOK if you replace the regulator and it solves your problems happy days, as a crude test with the bike running keep your hand over the regulator and it should heat up, this is how it reduces the voltage by turning the excess into heat which dissipates through the heatsink, the rectifier is essentially a diode which turns the AC voltage from your alternator into the DC voltage required to charge your battery and by the look of that one in the link you should be able to do a continuity test with your multimeter leads on each of the pins,

Sorry peeps, i guess i kinda threw that curveball... i think it was the whole evolution thing.

hence why i have a car for moving shit around/protecting me from the elements and a fireblade for laying down rubber. personally i would rather be too hot than too cold, im not so bothered about 60'c afghan summer but as soon as the bitter cold of the british winter kicks in i cant stand it. i did once contemplate "winter kitting" the XJ, i had a spare seat in need of a cover so the plan was to install a 12v heat mat under the cover (the type you can get for reptile habitats), handlebar muffs, already had heated grips, you can get heated insoles, gloves and even a heated jacket liner from maplins so there was even a plan in place for wiring those together into a 12v accessory socket, but lack of funds and other projects (XJ Turbo, several minis and now two DT50s') soon put a stop to that

now now peeps, lets not start a war here, reminds me too much of an argument i had with my mates devote catholic girlfriend (to be fair, she's a nutcase at the best of times), even the opening title of the 'big bang theory' on TV sets her off, whilst its amusing to watch there came a point where i was in no mood for it
