mileage is recorded on the clocks themselves, it's possible that the clock unit has been switched for one from a lower mileaged bike. my dad bought a Jog RR for my brother to learn on not long back with the handlebars and clocks smashed up from where some muppet tried to nick it, ended up buying a set of clocks from a similar year Jog R which showed the mileage as less
  2. Beasty Mobylette [soooo much power!]
  3. some people deserve to be branded as "special" and refused access to any motor vehicle... still, always nice to get your own back isnt it. should have gone up beside him at a set of traffic lights and said "Sir, could you step out of the vehicle for a minute?", see what pathetic excuse he has and watch the bugger squirm
  4. not familiar with your specific bike mate, measure the outside diameter of the carb inlet and buy a filter in the size (my DT50 uses a 28mm cone filter)
  5. cone filters are an option, they usually come with their own hose clamp already on the rubber so all you do is tighten it around the carb inlet. the cone filters allow more air to get to the enigne than the standard airboxes do, therefore you need to up the fuel flow to compensate. you would possibly need to re-jet your carb, which is a fairly simple procedure.
  6. could be bent selector forks or even a knackered return spring if the lever isnt returning to its centre, take the side case off and have a look.
  7. you lot sure have some weird passtimes down there in devon... O.o
  8. ive never had the experiance with a copy bike, but dont expect the same build quality as you would with a high-market jap bike. if its just to throw around the fields then can't see any problem, a good source of spares is essential for any bike so check to see if you can get spare parts in the UK
  9. perhaps Goff you should volunteer for the job of riding pillion?
  10. i assumed he was still on L-plates 'cus i is fick ennit.
  11. TIT MONDAY! Thats right, its tit monday!, even though it was actually tit monday on friday... but hey
  12. h'ed be pulling wheelies at every traffic light and the suspension would be flattened
  13. there nothing wrong with drum brakes, my DT50 has drum brakes front and rear and its not too bad for stopping. gie the brakes a good clean out, fresh set of shoes and it will do you a good service, theres no point in "pimping up" a bike which wasnt designed to be pimping in the first place. keep the SR125, once you have thrown it down the road a few times and got to grips with biking you can get something a little more elaborate
  14. Dick on a Mobylette (sorry OG)
  15. sounds like carberation troubles to me, try opening the throttle with choke on and see if that helps, if the bike continues running then it is more than likely running lean. in which case you will need to re-jet the carb. quite often these performance upgrades will require rejetting to balance the increased air/fuel ratio, are there any instruction on the packaging/invoice of your new parts?
  16. my dad got done in bristol a few months ago in his van, 36 in a 30... had to pay £60 and went to a "SpeedChoice" thing so he can sit in a room for a few hours being told how naughty he was, but managed to get out of the 3 points
  17. two words Piggy Bank...
