  1. from what i can remember, they changed from the XJ (pre-diversion) around 92/93, then it was the XJ600N and XJ600S (or the other way around, cant remember which one came first), best thing to do is find a donor bike that is as close to your bikes year as possible, cross-examine as many parts as you can to determine if your bike is the same
  2. Still looking good for me, i will be based near birmingham at that time so will have to get the XJ Turbo ready to roll, failing that i will be on the fireblade , would anyone be interested in some special ed Squires 2013 T-shirts?
  3. Just a point on the iridium plugs, i went from using the standard copper-core NGK plugs to the iridium equivelant (same heat rating e.t.c) on the XJ600 and i did notice an improvement in mid/top end pick-up particularly when going from part to full throttle, may have just been a placebo effect or black magic, either way i was pretty happy with the iridiums. will treat the fireblade and the XJ Turbo to a set next
  4. Pretty sure i told the whole story in my van thread :S

    cow horse?

Im probably going to get a lot of flac for this, but there's actually some pretty good gen on infowars.com, a lot of it is mostly conspiracy tbh, but the other parts i can see have atleast some truth in them interesting link on 'the corporate man' squeezing the little guy HERE

    cow horse?

Anyone remember the article about taco bell using earthworms?... Its mass produced stodge, being fed to a generation of despondant apathetic trust-fund babies, being sold by gigantic corporations looking for the biggest profit margin I grow my own stuff, only use rain water too, there's too much shit in the tap water, things 'they' dont want you to know about. dont conform peeps, refuse to be a drone
  7. cheers bud, bought it a cou[ple of days ago
  8. not familiar with the theft patterns tbh, i guess its similar to in the UK i.e. depends if you live in a 'rough' area or not. you can always deter theft, like park it in a space where there is CCTV, fit a disc locks and alarm, a big f*cking chain through the frame to something solid like a ground anchor or lampost
  9. Leatherman, small adjustable spanner, mars bar, boot laces and a mobile
  10. you can get panniers for them, although you would probably find rocking horse sh*t with hens teeth in it with less effort/money, there are mounting points for panniers in the tail unit which are blanked off with little plastic bungs, if fancy a bit of fabrication you could make a set, likewise with the rack
  11. I knew that having the mental age of a toddler would have its advantages ^.^, last week i got a bollocking for drawing on the concreete blast walls with crayon
  12. yeah the corned beef hash is still there, so is the little bottle of tabasco to make it edible, they do a wicked lamb curry for the dinner pack tho
  13. Unfortunately they no longer put screech in the rat packs , you get a little pouch of fruit flavoured paste/drink and an oatmeal biscuit which is full of sugar, and the 'not for civies' yorkie bars have been shitcanned because they weren't halal compatable, they now give you some shit choc which seperates into a milky layer and dust
  14. what i meant was that the studs i attempted to drill through (and fucked up) have now been filled in with weld, so i plan to make a small jig that sits in the exhaust port and mimics the footprint of the original exhaust clamp, i can then drill through the jig and get the new holes on dead centre
  15. Alternatively you could try eating the "biscuit browns" that the military uses in its 24hr ration packs, just dont expect them to taste of anything except cardboard and you wont have a dump for a week, good for soaking up oil spills though
  16. I piss around with photoshop and flash e.t.c, would be happy to help if its any use?
  17. hob nobs ftw, ginger nuts dont sound manly at all

That RXS looks pretty tidy, probably be better off selling it to get some money back in for all the new parts that GPZ will need , H reg so 1990/91, looks almost as bad as my XJ turbo was, full nut and bolt rebuild or a slap-together-and-ride?
  19. Just a quick update peeps. i managed to find a very good set of downpipes complete with collector box on eBay and made an offer, the only other major part of the exhaust i am missing is the inlet that runs from the collector box to the turbo, that may need some creative thinking to solve as most second hand parts have the same problem of being rotted out that my original one had , main priority is still re-drilling the exhaust studs and getting that engine ready to go back in the frame, after that everything else can start being refitted, not a lot i can do about it for the next couple of months as im still in the sandbox
  20. Will be looking to close this thread in the next couple of days peeps, get your votes in now or it will have to wait for Marchs' page
  21. Hi peeps, Was looking through some of my various XJ Turbo bits and pieces on my laptop trying to re-familiarise myself with how it goes back together, i already have a parts catalog which helps a fair bit but was wondering if anybody had a link to a service manual online? i have one for the DT50 which goes into great detail about how/where the wires should route e.t.c and would be a great thing to have for the turbo aswell any help appreciated Foameh
  22. depending what the gap is you could spin up a bush to sit between the hub and the bearing, or just use your italian tin with a bit of loctite, if it aint broke dont fix it right?
  23. And we usually end up bailing out the poorer countries and getting dragged into bullshit conflicts. Have you looked at any of the Kia range?, i know im probably a bit biased but the new sportages and sorentos look very tasty and have a good spec, buy a petrol one and gas it , i have one of the first generation sportages on gas and it returns 50mpg equivelant, £255 a year to tax, £900 a year to insure (ive had a few shunts) and apart from an incident with a popped water bed which caused the rear lights to mess about for a bit (was my fault tbh) it has never had any problems,
  24. aslong as it isnt stupidly loud i cant see why they would have a problem with it, unless it has a sticker that says "for race use only" or something, you can even buy the certification plates off ebay for a few quid if you're that worried about it
