  1. Well, needs a rust scab repairiing on the roof and ideally a respray, other than that its brilliant, i just cant insure it
  2. The americans tend to have tighter emissions controls, you'll probably find that most of the extra pipes go back to the airbox to re-use engine vapours or exhaust air get your old and new engines side by side and see where those pipes are coming from, if they are coming from a panel that you can swap with the old engine then swap the panels over, if they are tapped into the case id suggest looking at some pictures of the US version and trying to pinpoint where those pipes go
  3. oh dear... this is a problem... paid £350 for the car, and the cheapest insurance quote i got is £2000... looks like i will be breaking it for parts then :/
  4. gonna give it a quick respray then get it MOTd and park the kia up until i finish my course . also ive listed all my remaining DT50 bits so by next week i should be down to about 5 bikes, i think i may even split the DT Dakar project for parts as 1 DT is enough for me, and finding the rest of the dakar parts is going to be a pain in the ass... that will bring me down to 4 Bikes and maybe then i will actually get a project finished! also, next weekend im going back to benson to pick up my old Mini, so will have to get to work on that aswell
  5. It was a bright sunny day today, so i decided to get outside and strip the 4th DT down, list the parts i dont want on eBay and swap all the good useable bits i want onto the blue DT, here's now it looks left my blue rear mudguard at home though, d'oh!
  6. no not that i could see anyway. some more piccies spent a couple of hours this morning giving it a good hoover out/de-muck, there was a packet of wrigleys extra in the centre console that had some how turned to water and started a new life form, looking very nice though , would ideally like to take the wheels off, shotblast them and repaint them in a nice shiny silver
  7. I could probably fit all 7 of my 'bikes' in there...
  8. Thats the occasion where it pays to be on the blade, a lot more nimble, can get my way out of a sticky situation much easier
  9. Pisses me right off when people do either tbh, im very defensive when im driving, had some twat in a chrysler 300 try and overtake a long queue of 20mph traffic on the crosshatches on the A417 from gloucester, naturally when the traffic got to about 40mph he attempted to push infront of me (big green 4x4 with a trailer and SR on the back... not like he didnt see me), blasting the horn did nothing, so i held my position and by moving further into my lane he put a dent in his rear wing. Insurance company agreed he was at fault, i had to wipe his paint off my bullbar, bellend. much like those who speed up when you overtake them, causing you to either increase your speed (i dont do more than 70 in the cage, too expensive on fuel) or reduce speed and drop in behind them. i can deal with the ones who chop and change ASLONG AS they are situationally aware and dont change lanes without checking it is clear, the ones that do loose thier wingmirrors, simple as
  10. Its the Mivec but with the auto box :c hence why it was so cheap but if you move the stick to the left it goes into a sort of semi-auto mode where you can flip up and down the gears The new missus foamy has fucked off, so now I have another thing to waste time with after work
  11. I always thought that was an MOT failure?, hence why you shouldnt have magic trees and fluffy dice in the window (obscures drivers vision)
  12. Well peeps... whad'ya think? (on left), needs a bit of TLC, 2.0 V6 with tiptronic 'box, small water leak on top of radiator tank which i will seal up. got it for £350, was going to split it for parts but i actually really like it , has automatic climate control, upgraded stereo with 10 stacker in the boot, spotless interior, no major rust underneath, there's a scab on the roof that needs rubbing down, filling and touching up and the passengers mirror doesnt fold in on the button Its got more toys on it than my Kia! (on the right)... coincidently if anyone fancies buying a Kia Sportage on LPG... let me know
  13. Pulled up to a busy roundabout in town on the DT50, went to put my leg down, quickly realised i was unable to, upon looking down i find that the kickstart lever has caught on the bottom of my jeans, i end up flopping over with the bike on top of me infront of several cars and then have to shuffle out from under the bike, pick it up and carry on
  14. Many thanks tommy, have done a bit of digging on Google and found this Sent you a pm bud, I can feel this project coming together already
  15. Oh, and if the worst does happen, you fuckers better carry me to the finish line!
  16. well one thing's for sure, im running the bristol half in september... so unless grouch can pull a rabbit out of the hat before then... Notice i said run... i may not finish, more than likely collapse after the first 5 miles, piss and shit myself and have to be carried off in a bambulance
  17. That only happened ONCE when one of my workmates bought a Ford Probe... was quite funny at the time
  18. Liking the sound of the forum cartoons idea, not sure about weekly as wouldnt want it to become a chore (no doubt those drawings take a while to make!), i doubt anyone would take great offence to it as most of us do a fairly good job of ruffling each others feathers without much more than a friendly "go f*ck yourself", and who cares, its a cartoon?
  19. Awwwh!, its just like my rattler, engine bars and all... needs a bellypan on it though
  20. Ride the Isle of man TT circuit naked on a mini moto
  21. its a motorcycle specific chat?, didnt fit the bill for the general or yamabys
  22. Hiya peeps. Starting to get a few bits on the cafe racer project (was an XZ550), but have taken the top yoke off as it was fuck ugly and wouldnt let me use ace bars, i was told by the pervious owner that XJ550 top yokes will fit straight on but as it turns out the only breaker i could find had sold his on already. Im thinking maybe XJ600 (pre-div?) or something similar, but not is kind of thing?sure where to start, does anyone have any experiance in thing?
  23. well i didnt get any new shoes, i ended up cutting some foam out of the old ones with a penknife because they were pissing me off. as for the non-smoking, i dont know what the fuck is in those e-cigs but i had half a cigarette on a night out about 4 days ago and it physically made me sick (i wasnt drunk enough to blame the alcohol), even if somebody walks past me after they've had a cig it makes me queesey... they stink!... training is steady, working up to about half the distance needed, beeing doing some interval training on my week off (run 100m at 30% pace, turn around and sprint at 100% 100m, turn around and run at 30%, then turn around at 100%), after 20 minutes of that im fucked but its certaintly doing some good
