WildFoamy's Aquatic Advice Column
it may just be the siamese fighter is being a tempermental little sh*t, as they quite often are , lol, even my goldfish have days where they mope around the plants, and some days they will not keep still. is the fighter fish still eating and deficating (didnt want to be quite as blunt as saying shi*ting) as usual? ideally it would have been best to quarantine the molly instead of treating the whole tank as the fish you mentioned are not as hardy as most coldwater specimins (where you can get away with dosing the whole tank). some fish will experiance side-effects to treatment, especially the less hardy varieties chances are if you've been cleaning the filters in old tank water and only doing half at a time (as you should) then any trace of ammonia would be gone, and because there is no Nitrite reading it will most certaintly have already established a nitrifying bacteria colony. common practice with any illness is to do a 50% water change and maybe up the weekly water changes from 15% to about 20% is a lot to take in, lol.

Who else rode through snow today?
Have you tested the water for Ammonia, NitrITE and nitrATE? for a siamese fighter you need Ammonia and Nitrite to be 0 and NitrATE to be less that 40, preferably around 20-30 or lower. sounds asif it may be stress related if he is placid on minute but tearing around the tank the next. what are you feeding him and have you changed anything else apart from the addition of females? sorry everyone...

Who else rode through snow today?
its not as bad here as it was monday and tuesday, its a bit warmer and the majority of the snow has melted and turned to slush. i went to Thatcham just a few minutes ago and got a load of plants, food and stuff for my fishies...

What is the Fazer like restricted to 33BHP?
usually there is one in the airbox and exhaust to restrict the engine, on some newer ones it may also be restricted in the CDI or EFI unit. can't comment on what its like with a restrictor though...

Cartilage piercings?
hi everyone. kinda want to get me some cartilage piercings, was thinking maybe a couple of small silver rings in the back of my right ear (in the cartilage) has anyone ever done a D.I.Y Piercing or had a cartilage piercing before?, ive stabbed myself countless times with screwdrivers before and took a chunk out of my hand on a sprocket, so a little prick wouldn't be that hard to do i would think (no jokes please) failing that, an eyebrow stud... to complete the real authentic biker look

Carb icing
hi everyone. it hink i have a bit of a problem with carb icing, in normal weather the bike is fine, but if i leave it outside when im at work sometimes it will be harder to start and run very rich until it has warmed up, same happened today when i got it out of the garage and its quite inconveniant having to go out to the garage with a hairdryer and pre-heat the carb (usually does the trick) went into my local Motorist Discount and they advised me to pre-mix a little extra two stroke oil and use a little pot of Red-Ex to help stop the icing, i have now done it and it seems to have helped anyone else have these problems and how do i solve it permanently?

Who else rode through snow today?
I did!. rode to school only to find it was closed, spent a few minutes playing around the streets , drifting around corners and generally having fun in the snow, but it seems my little DT doesn't like the cold and i think it had a bit of trouble with carb icing, just didnt want to go, kept stalling and was running very rich

Ignition won't switch off!
that may be the problem then, any water in the ignition would complete the circuit enabling the current to flow even with the switch in the off position. get a hairdryer and dry the ignition out as much as you can, see if that helps
