see above post ^^^, used bitzforbikes on a few occasions and have been impressed with the results. alternatively, your local dealer should have some already in stock or be able to order one in for you. make sure you get a good quality one, i use DK chains on my DT

any idea what is missing?, have you got it running? any specific ideas in terms of pimpification?.

Hmm, whats wrong with riding the DT? they cheap to run and pretty reliable i should know, mine has taken me all through winter and Xmas without too much trouble...

just been to George Whites in Swindon with a mate and tried out a few bikes, have you considered something like the Suzuki DR400?, alternatively maybe a Bandit or something with a more upright riding position (trials bikes?) or perhaps an Intruder?, plenty of legroom of some of those larger ones and they look pretty beasty

i doubt you will NEED to put a racing clutch on it, but adding lighter rollers and stiffer clutch springs would be ideal because it would engage at Higher RPM
  7. Stainless steel allen screws FTW, replaced the majority of the engine case screws on my DT with SS ones

i put 10w40 semi synth oil in my DT50, i would imagine your DT125 would be the same due to its capacity and vintage. should say in your haynes manual, if you dont have one i suggest you get one as they are a great help!
  9. had to remove pleenty of buggered screws on my DT... sometimes they can be removed with mole grips, but if you have completely removed the heads you may have to drill down into the centre of the holes and get a screw removal tool (looks like a threading tap but in reverse and with coarse threads) failing that, if you can get at it from behind (like on a DT50 Sprocket, for example) yo can drill it from the other side and spin it out

had a few of them pricks near take me off on a few occasions aswell, quite often they are changing gear and have the other hand on the steering wheel with the phone held between their ear and shoulder, which obviously means they can't see their mirror, cant see me and decide it will be a clever idea to cut me up at the next roundabout. if only i had a bigger bike, one swift removal of the wingmirror would be in order, not asif they use them anyway...

This is the helmet that ive got: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WULFSPORT-PRIMA-MX-E...A1%7C240%3A1308 it does the job very well, looks quite nice but is pretty heavy and overly big (manufacturers sometimes use the same shell for each helmet but add more/less padding to make the sizes) would rather stick to a moto-X style helmet as it suits the bike a bit better and i prefer having the peak, i dont really want to spend more than £100.
  15. ebay most likely your best bet mate, either that or your local breakers yard.

now i just gotta listen out for the unmistakeable "thump-thump-thump-thump" of the V-twin lucian... i think this is what they call "calm before the storm"

hot shit, im tuning in fo shizzle. need to go to poundland and buy another one of them protable radios to keep on my bikey...
  18. erm, ive heard of copper-based grease, but never alluminium based... aslong as you dont use it for bearings and places where you NEED to use conventional grease, i can't see the harm in using it for things like levers and stands

Hi everyone im looking for a new helmet as my current one is a bit primative, large and heavy (its a plastic Wulfsport helmet) anyway, ive been looking at some nice MX style helmets (carbon fiber one for £100 in george whites) but none of these seem to have visors, and for me that is a nescessity (sp?). so does anyone know where to find a good, lightweight MX helmet with a visor? (preferably a fibreglass or carbon fiber one)

R6 is a wet sump yes?. could just have been where you left it standing the oil has drained back into the sump.
  24. wild foamy replied to R12NDS_R6's post in a topic in General
Could be both, some riders give a full forward nod, some just flick their head to the side, some flick their had backwards, some just flash their lights. or if you're anything like my crew, you stand up and give a full wave, like what the queen does

Formation Ped Riding: Point ahead, then shrug - "f*ck it, lets see where this road goes!". Feet up on mudguard, left hand resting in lap - "Get a move on, im getting bored" Feet on back pegs, body moved up to pillion seat - "Lets get some air time over them speed bumps!" Shrug and shake head - "i dont know where the f*ck we are.../ You dont know where the f*ck we are, do you?" Fist clenched, shaking vigorously - "i'll get you for what you just did to my precious ped..." Head nodding - "Oh yeh, ped riedouts are FTW!" Head nodding towards sidewalk - "Hey, check out the street meat..." Left arm bent behind, pointing to the back of the bike - "Get behind me (often whilst navigating single lane traffic/obstructions)" of course, most of these are unique to peds and/or the Newbury Ped Crew
