K&N
dont bother, had one on my DT50 and gave me some tuning problems so i gave it to a mate for his ped, either drill some more holes in your standard air filter or find an aftermarket foam filter

what about powdercoating??
hey peeps just been outside to start the DT up and make sure everything is fine, ended up getting the twitches and had to grab my helmet (giggity) and take it for a spin, got back and decided to give the (new) swingarm a scrub down to remove a bit of the salt and sh*t from the roads, noticed that although the new swingarm has only been on for a month or two its already going rusty, and when i scrubbed the rust off the paint also came off with it. now rather than take the swingarm off and respray it every couple of months would it be possible to powdercoat it for a bit more protection?, ive already had one swingarm rust through in a year and replacements are getting harder to find, so does anyone know where i can get powdercoating done, at what price and would it be possible to do a DIY jobby?

Help needed (electrical)
fuse on the sub is 20 amp and the fuse on the 6x9s amp is 60 amp, ive now installed the 8 AWG cable anyway because a buddy of mine had a load left over from wiring in his sound system as for the swift being able to run the stereo then not sure how to check that, so far it has been fine and is able to run the stereo with a good volume at low-revs (cruisin through town picking up the ladies ) and i havent noticed any strobin (headlights dimming in sequence with the subwoofer), if i do get into any difficulties i will look in to swapping the alternator for something a bit more substantial (off the top of my head, maybe the 1.6/2.0 suzuki vitara). will look up the amps spec sheet now...

aerox100 flooded
i tihnk what he means is that it will crank over on the starter but not run under its own power, if it wont start pull the choke out until it will, but i never need to use the choke on my DT even on days like today :/ (but mines running rich anyway)

Help needed (electrical)
Hey peeps i know this is a Yammy forum but need some help/advice with the sound system in my swift. basically i got a 500w subwoofer currently plugged in and running on a 10/12AWG power cable (supports maximum 800w), also got a 680w Amplifier for my 6x9s but these aren't connected to the stereo (waiting on an extra RCA cable). now, the sub and the speakers together are rated 1100w maximum output, so i cannot run both on my existing power cable. im swapping the existing power cable to the sub to a heavier 8AWG (1500w) cable tomorrow, im then planning to run the smaller 800w cable to my 6x9s' amp (piggybacking the spades from my subs amp), would this create problems for my sub amp by using the terminals to run my other amp?, and also would i be able to wire up the amp but leave it disconnected from the speakers or would this damage the amp? (as i said im only waiting on the RCA cable and dont really have the facilities i need on the base during the week) any help appreciated, i can upload a wiring diagram if you want aswell - Steveo

dt 50 carb wanted
ebay is your best bet mate as they do pop up frequently, do you know if yours is the TK or Mikuni carb? (there should be visible markings/logos on the carb to help identification)

somebody knocked foamy's jawa over
feck tha lot of ya's, t'is my Jawa!, sure its not fast, or stylish... or handle particularly well, and its a bit on the heavy side, and it tears holes in the o-zone layer, and the women point an laugh when i roll by, and its a pain in the ass using premix, and the gearbox is a bit prehistoric... BUT t'is still my Jawa! >

Check it out peeps, brings back memories...
Evenin' peeps, found THIS whilst doing my search for Jawa spares on ebay, made me think about my poor Agro which has been abandoned in my shed for almost a year now... front end spread across the shed in various boxes and bags... brought a tear to my eye... must get it back together for the summer :/, and do my practical test aswell... oh, BTW, if i get a full bike licence can i take the L plate off my DT? its staying for another year now that ive T&Td it so may aswell use it

Damn that snow!!!
i dont see what all the fuss is about, drove home today 160 miles from cosford to newbury in my trusty little swift with a couple of other squadies hitching a ride, well, thats after i got a bollocking from the RAF Police for doing handbrake turns in the car park ¬¬. places around the world that see conditions like this all year round just get on with it, as soon as the snow comes down in the UK everything grinds to a hault...

The DT is back!
the jawa has been largely forgotten about tbh, its sat in a sorry state with most of the panels removed and the whole front end stripped down in the shed down the bottom of my dads garden, currently waiting on the forks from the very nice Mr Jim himself and then it can go back on its wheels, have the new brake pads fitted, a brake pushrod made up and (hopefully) get a ticket on that for the year aswell. i hope i dont start collecting them...

The DT is back!
Hey peeps, just given the garage a ring where i dropped off my DT for its MOT last saturday and it got through fine with no advisories, will be slapping some tax on it at the end of the week, already payed for the insurance (about £100 third party) and the bike itself doesnt owe me much, so im keeping it for another year. just didnt have the heart to sell it tbh...
