i gathered that mike (eventually), hence my last post, lol i work have long stressfull days, sometimes takes a while for things to click cheers though

progress peeps, had to "modify" the exhaust mounting bracket and drilled the first two holes (one on each side) and got the towbar roughly mounted so i can get a general idea of what modifications are needed (so far the only one i think it needs is the towhitch mounting plate needs to be brought up a bit which is an easy enough job, will continue with it tomorrow when i can get access to the service ramp will hopefully be picking up the XJ in a week if all goes well!

oh okay, seeing as its a RAF affair do i need to bring military ID?, and would i have to authorise this with my CO? looks like its either the Jawa or the XJ as i cant take the DT on the motorway ¬¬

Hey peeps, does anyone in/near RAF cosford (i.e. telford, wolverhampton, birmingham) have a bike trailer or a small trailer capable of carrying a bike that they would be kind enough to lend to me for a day? regards El Foamio

as luck would have it peeps, my brother has a towbar mounting frame that he had on his swift (albeit his was a Mk2 and mine is a Mk3), and as i understand it this frame is mounted using fishplates and has been designed to go under the bumper and up, not through it. bonus

My swift is a 2000, and mervin that towbar is for the 95/96 5dr but thanks for trying bud.

i'll be down there, swindon is easily within the capability of the DT but hopefully will have done my full test practicals by then (got put on hold during xmas because of the weather )any idea what time it is?

Hey peeps, im now in need of a towbar to tow a single bike trailer (ive checked, it is under 750kg and is less than the unladen weight of the towing vehicle so i can tow it without taking another test). i have an old hitch unit in the shed, and a frame to mount it to but what point on the car should it be mounted to? help appreciated peeps - Steve

thats weird, i have no problem with traffic lights when im on my little DT50 :/, only thing i can think of is make sure you have pulled right up to the line and are close to the centre of your lane. sorry i cant be more help bud :/

went out on the DT last week, despite the cold it was rather enjoyable... ut for the time being i will stick to the swift, with my windscreen and heater... loverly
