  1. What like Ferris Bulers day off, nah. I sometimes wonder about a 400 till I get back on the TDR. Loving that shed, the wife would let me but I just dont have the cash.

So second question. is there a critical distance for that system to work? Just throwing another question in , never know.
  3. Simple, Fowlers in Bristol. If its a purchaseable yam (even odd stuff ) part they will 99% likely have it and before 2pm its next day del. I dont bother with the others any more.

Can you not try the pulse coil dynamicly. With the coil off the bike pass whatever triggers it across and see what happens. Be it a positive, drop to earth etc. Might help diagnosis?
  5. Jammy, f.in, lucky, canny . Oh thats brill. Obviously not my thing. Cramped damp draughty garage is far better. Better sign off. Lucky, btrd, want, bloody git, Bye now take care.....

    Unridables Part 2

Id like to see what one of the current riders could do on those old strokers. Dont forget there wasnt personal nannys checking everything, diet exercise. Those guys partied round the world. Rock up to the track still wasted.
  7. I have 45's on my TDR and they feel much better with the slightly higher pressures.
  8. Crikey, thats how to tempt fate
  9. Yep, ALWAYS ticks me off that we have to call ourselves British. Note the avtar. English.
  10. Normal sat nav waterproofed with clingfilm. SECURELY fixed. The sat nav that is.. Bluetooth headset.. Pah, use your phone heaphones, double as earplugs, (so long as they have a mic in em).
  11. Year of manufacture prob. About the only thing that changed on the dt100 over the years was the paint colours.
  12. No Steve, battery makes no difference and the heat/age will have killed the crank seals. If it actually ran it wouldnt be far. All the bits are there. Its one of those rarities where it could be fixed up enough to make money, or be a real good base for a custom, partly financed by the existing parts. Or restore it zzzzzzzz, been done..

Be hilarious if it turns out to be a duff kill sw.........
  14. Phwew not too bad then. Have to admit I dont like reading wreck reports. Took my time before looking at this. Glad your ok,(ish)
  15. First job is replace the points and condenser. Then see if it runs. The rest will be nothing drastic providing the loom is good. As to the ruined screws, so long as the plate is tight and where it should be. Leave it for now. Unless it looks recently disturbed.
  16. Introduce yourself in the newmembers area. Just say high and let people know a little about you. Plenty of folk on here know the little DT but without an intro you may not get any replies.

    Nice ride, slowly

Kev you miss so much. I was 15 minutes from home but felt like it was an adventure. You should tr...... Hang on, every time you leave the house you explore the unknown.
  18. Funny how they didn't catch on to start with, something the euro's gave us worth having. My tdr is at heart a DT125 with a TZR 250 motor in it. No matter HOW you say that its going to be fun......You cannot have light, powerful and boring in one motorcycle.
  19. I know it sounds like a dull title but I spend all my time on motorways and such. So once I had fully cleaned all the oily gunk from my oil leak incident, and fixed the scottoiler as a bonus I popped out for a 'quick spin'. Riding down the same roads I saw a 'not suitable for HGV' sign. That's for me says I, well the next 40 miles passed as single track, lanes in 500year old villages and simple roads to nowhere, couple were even 2 separate strips of tarmac. Just turning down roads that were signed as narrow or restricted in some way. Ended on a farm at one point. Hardly saw another vehicle and spent most of the time at 20 or 30mph. Really made a change, everything is within 10 miles of my house but felt so remote. It was so nice, to racing idiots, no boy racers nothing just sightseeing down roads a car would struggle if it met another. All told the quick spin was just over 70miles
  20. Filling by quantity is not an exact science. You dont know what oil is left after a change, the stated quantity is just that, a nominal figure. You could be overfull by 10 to 15% very easily.
  21. He looked in yesterday afternoon after my comment and hasnt been back. The introductions are there to bring people in and encourage contribution. Without it you need things like moderator approval for first few posts, or initial membership. Restrictions as a whole we dont really want. He may or may not be back, I hope he does but the inroductions have a valid place.
  22. Dont suppose you checked your battery recently. Fair bet its flat or getting there.
  23. It must be replaceable. Only other option would be drilling the case somewhere discrete then tapping said hole for a set screw( 8mm maybe) of appropriate depth (allowing for a sealing washer). Just remove to check level.
  24. If you dont introduce yourself in the newcomers area you may not get much more of a response. Folk appear, ask questions like this and vanish without so much as a thank you. Introducing yourself shows willing.
  25. Yeah catchphrase. Pussy flavoured pizza. Whadda win, whadda win.
