    New toy :3

Dont bother, the engine may be bullet proof but the rest is standard UJM and will be pretty ropey under that plastic. Just concentrate on the turbo.
  2. And people say 2 strokes are a pain in the ars
  3. There are enough ways to get hurt in this world. Those cans dont have a lot of pressure in them. Exploding wd40 can? I will leave this in the 'Dont try this at home' box.

Foams, make it legal then chuck on a coat of air force something. Desert might be fun? then ride it as transport.
  5. Duplication causes confusion. This is already running elsewhere. Asking in different bits of the forum just puts people off.
  6. After 20 pluss years standing your looking at pulling it right down, every consumable and fluid will be rubbish. The engine will hurt, as said 2strokes arent sealed so after 20 years it 99% will need a crank rebuild as the webs and bearings will have corroded. Still a total steal, remember in good unrestored and running condition that bike is worth £4k all day long.
  7. Pssst, no I moved it. For me if the seal has gone, the other will be on its way, same for the beaarings. Fix it properly ONCE.
  8. He logged in yesterday?
  9. Tricky, there are no water galleries in the bottom end. There is a pipe brings water in from the rad, then another taking it to the cylinder. The water stays in the barrel and head. Being a 2stroke there is no valve trrain to complicate things or allow water in either. You need to check the pump fully, there may be a crack in the casting allowing water to pass, maybe a wear ridge on the shaft. Could you remove the rh case and then do a pressure test much like a bike puncture. The system only runs at about 6psi so a couple of corks and a football pump would do it. Does seem odd though.
  10. They are were made for Aus, India, china etc till recently John. Have you tried a new plug?
  11. +1 on the intro. Backfire, missfiring, low acid. Battery and or reg rec unit.
  12. Just loosening the bolt wont help as the engine vacume will stop the oil leaking. The most effective way is take the pipe off, plug the hole in the carb and run the engine. If its got a normal oil supply one or two minutes at idle wont bother it. Then you will see the oil pumping out.
  13. That should do to prove the battery. If it starts straight up, easy fix.
  14. Got a car in the family? Get some jump leads and connect your bike to it. It wont hurt the car battery and then start the bike. Sounds like a bad cell in the battery. It will still give 13v but the bad cell will have no power.
  15. Considering the money and time the engine demands is it worth sacrificing the tiny gain from the holes and seaing them properly. Only got to forget once......
  16. Fix the pump, they only appear to not work because idiots mess with them because they dont understand what they do. Classic missconception is more oil is good, not on a 2stroke. Fixing it will save oil, mess, inconvenience and the bike will run better.
  17. Welcome. At 5'6 the r6 will fit like a glove.
  18. So recharge the battery and check the charging output as well. A good battery will show 12 to 13v.
  19. Ewww, round my part of the world 'The old lady and the old man' are your mum and dad....
  20. Dont worry about it. The bike isnt new enough for noise rules. So long as the exhaust is complete and not leaking go wake the dead.
  21. Might want to brace yourself on that motor. I know im a cynic but odds are a LC parked at 22k (14000miles is about right for a top end )and not used again was BECAUSE the motor blew. Any way round that engine will be your biggest bill. 2strokes really are the rule, 'do it once, do it right'. Cheap out on the motor and every penny saved will cost you 10. Been there, done it. The rest should be a doddle. Could even be left as is, fixed obviously. Original unrestored bikes are worth the most. Matching numbers and that little beaut will easy return what it costs.
  22. Exactly webmoto, yambits and plenty others buy from fowlers. But they buy what sells. Perfect example is the o ring on my TDR 250 output shaft, you lot dont sell it, (just checked). Fowlers, got 20 odd of em.
