  1. Simple enough. Few possibles. Master cyl not allowing fluid back. unlikely but possible. Slave cyl stuck siezed. Same as above. My personal favorite on a car that has been stood is the clutch its self siezing. Happened to me twice. Once on a rangy the other on an old mk2 escort. Might free up but the spanners will be out. Least is an easy one. The clutch on a rangy is a barstrd. Everything weighs a ton.
  2. I had something similar on my suzuki but as an anti theft device. I used to start it and turn the ig on and initially off with it. After turning the bike off a couple of times on the road by accident i reverted to the kill switch on the bars for the stopping part. With the wiring all rerouted only the ancilaries worked on the bars. The ig and starting was done by remote. Ig switch did nothing. I did have an overide under the seat should the remote die though.
  3. Some of my bike gear has high viz elements built in. The graphics on my lid are done with the same material as road signs and have been told its very bright. Picked the patern before i realised it was SO visible. My trousers also have reflective piping. Just the way its going. The health and safety police. ie the insurance companies will force it through in the end. Can see it now. Defence from car insurance will be that he couldnt see him cos no hi viz. Win or lose before long reflective elements will be a discount on your policy. Dont call me cynic for nothin.
  4. Helooo. Might even risk the dt this year.......no promises though 140mile on the dt.....at 50mph........hmmmm. Trailer maybe...

    Exhaust Help

Wasp in a tin can. Not a lot you can do about it. The noise is affected by RPM, port timing and shape as much as the exp chamber. It sounds like a screamer cos it is a screamer. You rev far higher than the scoots. They need more torque for the auto box and the associated drag gives a deeper tone. Your free of that drag. Enjoy.
  7. Yea. Ment well but really picked a bad way to say it.
  8. 60mph in 3rd. Crikey. Whats the gearing.
  9. Dont know on the year but you lucky lucky bstrd. One of the nicest of the early yams. Quick enough to wake the soul and rare enough to be special. :'( Jealous.....
  10. I have had wheelbearing just die too. Although i think its more to do with you being used to the bike and not feeling the change. With disk and chain going at the same time they were dead and somebody else riding your bike may have felt it instantly. Even though you couldnt.
  11. Dont know if it would fit per se but the lanza and the dt175mx share the same bore size. As to pin dia. Deck height etc i can give you the numbers for the 175 as i have a couple in bits in the garage. You will need to check yours to see if it will go.
  12. See. Everybody blames the bikes for the dealer screwups. Just dont buy new. Or if you do take the car bike whatever and consider the issue done after screwing for the best price. Warranties arent worth a wank and dealers would sell their soul for a sale. Any money back has to be counersigned by god (lower case pick you preference). Enjoy the bike. Forget the warranty and breakdown stuff. You could have bought all that with money left buying ex demo insted. As everybody knows im cynical. Im not often wrong though. As for forum gossip.....oh! hang on..!
  13. I tried beefing up the motor in mine but it started horsing around on part throttle. B dom tish
  14. It will be the feed. Those lights use different earths and wiring. The common link is the feed from the battery. I think :-) Tis on my ol girls anyway.

    cow horse?

Am i the only person not surprised that the mince is of dubious origin in processed food. A lot of our european nations have a, at best notional view of laws. Its another issue that all the companies have chosen to ignore. I very much doubt that the companies envolved did not know. You wont be able to prove it. There wasnt anybody shouting that their meat was 100 per cent beef. Nobody think thats odd. 21st century business caught for what it is. Massive money machines and sod the punter.
  16. Its generally the pipe out of the exp ch that chokes things. Length of old garden hose shoved in the back might show a difference. Certainly easy
  17. How is the coolant. Level changed. Smell funny or have oil in it.
  18. You dont ride a 2stroke or ever have. Modern plugs are a million times better than 20 years ago. As are the oils but a plug on either of mine can go anytime. Bit of carbon across the electrodes. Bit too much oil. Hell sometimes they just stop. Then work again later. I always have enough kit to swap a plug. You will lose skin on the tdr doing it though.
  19. How many miles. Could be rings or needing a decoke.
  20. Sound like it could be an aussie bike. Does it kook like this one. http://m.gumtree.com.au/yamaha-dt-175/v?adId=1014012794#yamaha
  21. Doesent stop there john. Apparently the fuel hose and tap also fall victim as do the floats and o rings. Same with the fine nylon filter mesh too. Cars are not safe either. Your talking 2008 on before you are certain things like fuel pumps and injectors are safe. I think there is still less to go wrong on the old stuff.
  22. Love it ! spat my coffee laughing so hard...
  23. My bad day just got a little easier. Note mental image..... :-)
  24. How can you even suggest a mans biscuit that goes limp after being dipped for a couple of se...... er! Hmmm froydian confessions maybe. Maybe why no one said custard cream.....
  25. Thats not a nickname he will want to keep.
