A 750 motor could be fitted (if you,ve got the skill/facilities/money!)Another 600R/Thundercat engine would surely be easier/ cheaper?
  2. If I could have only one it,d have to be inline four....they,re popular with good reason! Having said that,I,ve got a soft spot for big singles too!
  3. Best Yamaha?.. OW01. Only 500 made, absolutely cutting edge at the time & the record to back it up; BSB & WSB wins, TT lap record, Daytona 200, etc. Still looks great today, too!
  4. Superb restoration, looks like it,s just outta the crate! C model silencers are like hens teeth, well done that man!
  5. Sweet Cat, best of luck with it!
  6. That is tasty! Got an almost factory look to it.
  7. Might be jumping the gun here but have you tried adjusting the clutch? (i.e. cable & screw/locknut in sprocket cover). If you have then changing plates/springs is pretty straight forward. Sounds like you,ve got everything you need & yeah, it,s OK to re-use the oil. Hope this helps.

    Looks like a YL1 100 twin.
  9. Sweet! V&M colours look the biz!
  10. Good vid, that. RD sounds crisp!
  11. Nice FZR! You could try a can with a removable baffle, loud pipes may save lives but they can attract a lot of unwarranted attention!
  12. Have you checked the EXUP valve?

There,s spares or repairs, there,s projects & then there,s that.....

I presume you mean the red/white/speedblock scheme? If so, I think it looks the biz, classic Yam colours.
  15. Don,t know about ferries but the Manx is well worth a look. They,ve rejigged the race schedule & expanded the post classic classes, should be good!
  16. I wouldn,t bother with either of them, no interest in bicycles, too much hype & bullshit at the TT. I,d save me money for the Manx Grand Prix.

Lovely little bike, that. As the OP said, leave it as it is. It,s not often you see a bike of that age in such good original nick.
  18. Looks like it,s off a Super Tenere...
  19. Used the dremel method on an outer race which was stuck in the wheel once, worked a treat! However, be extremely careful with the grinding wheel. Cut a little bit at a time, checking as you go. I made two cuts into the race 180 degrees apart & was able to lever/tap out the two halves (as it were).
  20. Bought an RST textile jacket about two years ago. Both inner & outer zips eventually broke. Fortunately a friend of mine recommended someone who was able to repair the jacket. I,d think long & hard before buying an RST product again....
  21. Seems like the event was jinxed, bomb scare, pissing rain & Farquhars bike blowing oil on the road all conspired to bring down the curtain on proceedings. Still, we,ve got the TT coming up shortly !

Possible cheap future classic there alright, shouldn,t take too much to get it sorted.
  23. Well done! great resto. Nice collection you,ve got there. BTW, in the first pic, is that a T140 Bonnie in the background?
  24. Motor sounds healthy! Cosmetic refurb or total restoration?

Ebay? Saw a complete set on there recently for around 120 quid. Breakers are probably your best bet, FZR discs are the same as some other Yams of that period.
