My Next Step Once Bike Is Running?
You have proved it will run,,,,,,, you have also proved that it runs very weak with out the filters in place Put the filters back and see what happens ?? Did the bike have pod filters before you bought it , or have you added them since ??

No spark, clueless for now.
Have you checked the engine stop switch ??? yes I know that when you turn it off it stops the starter motor turning, but there is also a feed from there to the coils, check that the contacts are clean and not covered in green gunge,, worth a try !!

Authenticity in the v-twin stable.
Sooooo where did all this stem from ????? don`t think I have ever seem a thread on here condeming Harleys, or for that matter, any other make of bike. Or, where some mates taking the piss down the pub ??? ""and continue to rely on anecdotal fiction relayed to them by their mates over a pint in the pub.""

No spark, clueless for now.
Are none of the plugs sparking ?? check the low tension wiring make sure that it has not got rubbed through against the frame some where, usualy under the tank, you say you have changed the CDI box ? was that for another 2nd hand one ? also check the regulator/rectifier if this has gone pop then it could take out the new CDI unit.

02 midnightstar question
"From the mods specified, it might need a re-jet, a tune-up or carb adjustment. " Yep as a above,,,,,,,,,,,,, sounds like you need to go up a couple of sizes on the main jet, do a plug chop, take the plugs out and check the colour, if they are white on the tips then it is running weak.

Bleeding FZS 600 Fazer 1998 (Rear Brake
Nope !!!!!!!!!!! The system needs a change of fluid and then bleeding,,,also check the condition of the brake pipe,if this is the original rubber item, then it may be time to change to a stainless braided line. If this doesnt work then you will need to overall the complete system, with new seals in both the master cly and caliper.

Milky Oil was waterless XJ600
Could be that the bike has been stood for a long time and condensation has gathered inside the engine with it not being started, now you are using it and the engine has got warm, the condensated water has mixed with the oil and hence the milky looking oil,, usualy a good run and getting the engine hot will get rid of the water, but in extreme cases like yours an oil and filter change is a good idea......... I think that is what I would go for just to be on the safe side !! Also clean out the breather pipe and air filter box.

tyres
I use the Bridgstone 021s on the Fazer 1000 and have found them a good tyre in the wet and the dry, tyre life is OK at about 6000 miles for the rear and 8000 for the front, bout the only downside is that they seem to square off if you do a lot of motorway miles, more so than the old BT020s, i think I will be trying the Dunlop Road Smart next, these seem to have had a good wright up in the M/C press. Bridgstones recomended fitment for the 2005/06/07 R6 are,,, BT014s,,, BT016,,,BT021s and BT002s (street racing) if you have the pre 05,then they dont recomend the BT002 and if you have the 08 model then the only fitment is the BT016 or BT016F

Dripping oil
If it comes from the top of the cam covers, then there should be a pipe on there and the other end should go into the air filter box at some point.

bike insurance
As every one says,, shop around !! Swinton may be worth a check,, don`t bother with Bennetts if your bike has more than 3 mods done to it......

Bennetts Bike Insurance
Tried to insure the wifes 2003 Fazer 600 with Bennetts, "does it have any mods sir", yep says I, and list the mods to the bike, nothing to drastic, just the usual, slip on can, db screen, hugger, belly pan,s/s brake lines, wavey discs,, "sorry sir can i stop you there, thats more than 3 mods", yes says I, "sorry we can`t insure the bike then, we only allow 3 mods" what the Fock!! you are supposed to be " THE bike specialists" !! "yes we are sir, but we only allow 3 mods" So there you are, if you are insured with Bennetts and your bike is moded, you probabley arn`t insured !!
