Hello there, new to this forum today

I've just bought a 1982 X reg XT250 with gold rims, black/silver tank and white plastic bits. Bought it from next doors son who's owned it for 21 years. It's taxed/mot'd but has no indicators as being 6v they were virtually invisible in bright light so he removed them and used hand signals. I'd like to convert it to 12v. I had an RXS 100 and early DT125LC a few years ago and the thought of 6v indicators is not appealing.

Is there a way to convert the bike to 12v using later XT parts etc. Either that or I was thinking of wiring a seperate 12v indicator circuit fed from a small 12v battery that would need charging occasionally off the bike. I'm only intending to use the bike lightly so 12v battery going flat wouldn't be an issue on a journey. Any thoughts are welcome.

I can see me using this site quite often

cheers Stuart
