Guest Tantalus Posted September 3, 2006 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I had the same horrible stickers on my new MT01, telling me to read the manual before riding the bike etc. I first peeled off the clear coating then used liquid polish to soften the sticker a bit and gently coaxed it off, bit by tiny bit with my fairly blunt nails. It sort of breaks apart as you do it and you need to keep it moist with the polish.. However, the sticker left plenty of gluey residue, which spread all over the tank when I tried to use polish to get it off.. Then I had an idea.. off to the kitchen! My wife had a small bottle of stain remover by Dylon Fabric Care: 'Stain Remover 1', it's meant to get oil & grease etc out of clothes, but I found by dabbing a bit on a piece of kitchen roll and wiping the bikes tank the gum came off in an instant! I made sure I applied a good polish again afterwards, just to be on the safe side. This stuff is readily available in Asda's or the like and it's a darn bit cheaper than specialist bike stuff!
