dribblindave
I brought my FJR back from the middle east, ( you guys don't know what hot is). To get it registered in the UK I need to change the dip light and the speedo disk. HELP. Anyone tell me the best way without forking out £300. Desperate to get it sorted as I can't get it insured until it's done.

dribblindave
Can you not find a secondhand speedo and headlight somwhere ? merv I have made enquiries at my local Yammy shops and was going to ask on ebay but I was hoping that someone had "the knowledge" and could point me in the right direction. OK I am being a bit of a numpty here but where would be the place to look. Dave
Moderator mervin Posted July 26, 2006 Moderator Share Posted July 26, 2006 I was thinking about this today, I beleive you can get convertors to put in the speedo line/cable to convert it too mph http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=547220 and http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=300089 are examples if it fits the bike as for headlamp does it have a fairing with built in lights if not there should be aftermarket lights aplenty available

I checked out those parts from M and P. One of the kph/mph converters had a speedo sticker supplied. I have queried this with them as I know that DVLA will not accept this. It's odd, the blurb said that it converts the readings from kph to mph - then why would it need a sticker? I have also looked around the web for a rhd headlight but it looks like I will have to buy one from a dealer . I will see what it is like under the fairing, may have to get them to fit it too . Haynes do not make a manual for the FJR but it it's not like I'm stripping the engine. Dribblin.
