I am a newbie here with a XS 650 (1975) 

i am looking for help to get a certificate of confirmation with date of manufacture and country of origin can any one help please Cheers Colin

Go on the air cooled RD forum,  look for the thread on DVLA,  dating cert"s ,  they  will date it for you , ,,  i once sent to Kawasaki Uk,   to date a Z1 [900]    they sent a letter saying "  we have no recollection of such model , ,  Fkn  dimwits,,   so  i never go near main importers,, they"re Braindead,

To counter that, I sent a letter to Yamaha UK with a Q plate XS1100 I bought. They sent me a letter informing me it was a 1979 model manufactured for sale in Europe. This was enough to get me a T plate registration for it.

This was about 1991/2 so most likely things have moved on since then
