Hi guys. Not been on in a while. Hope all are well.

Im after some help with a strange problem. 97 sr125. When i press the starter button i get strong voltage and good spark then it drops off and no spark. As i take finger off the button voltage grows again and spark returns.

Obviously this all happens quickly but can been seen by eye and on meter.

Im not the best with electrics so any help appriciated.

Cheers

Have you checked the starter relay and motor connectionsto see if they'reloose or corroded?

Battery does sound suspect, either has a cell down or a bad connection somewhere is dragging the voltage down

Probably better starting your own post as this is almost 4yrs old.

If you do fb, sign up to this group, unfortunately it moves a little faster than here nowadays

Any solution to this? I’ve got a TW125 with the same issue.

changed the battery, spark plug and starter motor. Got a voltmeter to check where the electrical problem lies but hoped for answers here

Try a new coil"   , my old cars were like  that,  way back,,,,used to let off the key and they started,,  voltage  not strong  while  starter was engauged ,
