Posted March 1, 20178 yr As title suggests my bike xv125 Â has recently returned from a bad garage who seemed to make my bike unridable, Â one thing I have noticed when I pull the clutch in a loud single click is heard from the relays behind side panel, and pretty sure it's from one of the relays, Â anyone know why it would suddenly start doing thisÂ

March 2, 20178 yr At a guess I would say the relay click is part of the side stand cut off switch system
March 2, 20178 yr Moderator Odd, normally its a bit of wiring trickery that interferes with the low tension side of the starter solenoid circuit. Wouldn't expect a 'click'. That would mean Yamaha used a relay to operate a relay, that's daft even for Yamaha.
March 3, 20178 yr On my XVS650 when I pull the clutch lever in I can hear a slight click with ignition on or off which I presume is a micro switch which tells the side stand cutoff that the clutch lever has been pulled in so you can start the bike with the stand up when the bike is in gear. There is no loud relay click from anywhere so maybe someone has messed up the wiring.
March 3, 20178 yr Author Dodgy garage messed about with the wiring bike won't even run now runs on half a cylinder reckon they messed with wires from tci to coils too
March 3, 20178 yr So your bike was running before it went into the garage, and now it's not? I suggest you have a word if so  Sent from my E6553 using Tapatalk  Â
March 3, 20178 yr On both my yams the relays click when I turn the ignition on but not when I pull the clutch, as it is running badly is there a short on the wiring, can you pull the tank and have a good look perhaps with a meter as well ? Keith

Keith Yea plan to grt tank off and inspect there work, but I don't have a garage so having to wait for a dry ish day, Â I've emailed the garage asking for explanation and a full list of work they done, I'm not taking it back there as no longer trust them,

Never mind emailing, Go to the garage and explain the issue face to face. Explain what you want to happen, i.e. Either fix the issue, or return it to the way it was when you put it in with your money back. If they refuse either then contact Citizens Advice or your local Trading Standards and take advice from there
March 3, 20178 yr Moderator Why the only person working on my bikes is me. Save for one other. Even our cars. The bloke next door who has done my car mot's for the better part of 20years. HIS opinion i listen to.
