Copper slip is not what it was, I think it has suffered from being kind to polar bears the same as paints and such. The stuff you get now is not like what I remember from years back servicing cars with my dad.

I got some copaslip type stuff from proctor and gamble, had it for a few years and its seems really good.

used on all my bikes since 2006 :)

I've done bucket and shim valve jobs quite a few times, it's not actually ever as bad as people think. It's just about being methodical.

A pain about the exhaust studs, but again it's almost to be expected with anything over 15 years old. I tend to use ceramic grease on all that stuff now, on reassembly, it works even better than copper slip imo.

not on the tdm, fairing off, cooling system out then the cam box can come off.

as its a 270' crank tdc is ok on one then its a guess on t'other. I used cable ties on the chain and sprockets, but they still slipped :(

To be honest every bike ive done with bucket and shim, has been fairings off, coolant drop, sometimes air-injection off etc.

it's the nature of the beast.

It was a special order from Metmachex I believe. it actually said FZR600 on it so they must have adapted one from stock

Had one on my old LC, you will curse the small amount of adjustment. Watch the chain on the bottom brace too.

Looks nice though, bought your shares in autosol yet....:P

I'm putting a chain guide/protector along the top part.

seems to be laods of adjustment ATM and I've done 3k on the chain. Modern polishes are pretty good at staving off the grime the worst bit will be the scot oiler making sure it doesn't drip too much and fling out

did a bit of painting last night, just need to cure it in a large oven

this paint will take clear laquer too (tried a swatch) so easier to keep clean

Hi Drewps !  Longtime !!  Those wheels look great . I did something similar, but not half so well executed ,with the wheels for my LC .  I've all the parts together ,including a brand new crank from Norbo ,  and am hoping to start putting her together very soon .  Kev .

I wouldn't worry about laquer on the back wheel . The Scottoiler will provide a protective oil mist , lol ,.   Those Scottoilers are the business tho' .
