February 12, 20178 yr Moderator Copper slip is not what it was, I think it has suffered from being kind to polar bears the same as paints and such. The stuff you get now is not like what I remember from years back servicing cars with my dad.

I used cable ties on the chain and sprockets, but they still slipped To be honest every bike ive done with bucket and shim, has been fairings off, coolant drop, sometimes air-injection off etc. it's the nature of the beast.
February 13, 20178 yr Author Moderator done the anti freeze and got the rad fan going, made a funny noise till i realised it was chewing through its wire AARRGH! so 2 steps forward 1 step back the horn's not working now so need to check that out too. getting there, sloowwwly

April 22, 20177 yr Author Moderator just restored a wing rack and fitted it today. all stainless fittings and painted silver to match the bike's frame

June 4, 20177 yr Author Moderator just an update of what I've been doing in prep for the trip fitted a scottoiler today put on some cruiser footrests for the long straights neoprene splash guard fitted new bearings in wheels, swingarm and powder coated and oilite bush in bottom of shock
March 3, 20187 yr Author Moderator more updates; 17" FJ1200 wheel back from the blaster. polishing the edges and going to be gunmetal grey metalic on the wheel. reapeat for the rear next 4 output fused bus Metmachex swingarm with Hagon shock

March 4, 20187 yr Moderator Had one on my old LC, you will curse the small amount of adjustment. Watch the chain on the bottom brace too. Looks nice though, bought your shares in autosol yet....

Looks nice though, bought your shares in autosol yet.... I'm putting a chain guide/protector along the top part. seems to be laods of adjustment ATM and I've done 3k on the chain. Modern polishes are pretty good at staving off the grime the worst bit will be the scot oiler making sure it doesn't drip too much and fling out
March 7, 20187 yr Author Moderator did a bit of painting last night, just need to cure it in a large oven this paint will take clear laquer too (tried a swatch) so easier to keep clean
March 10, 20187 yr Hi Drewps ! Longtime !! Those wheels look great . I did something similar, but not half so well executed ,with the wheels for my LC . I've all the parts together ,including a brand new crank from Norbo , and am hoping to start putting her together very soon . Kev . The Scottoiler will provide a protective oil mist , lol ,. Those Scottoilers are the business tho' .
