Hi i have recently aquired a 2002 tdm900 and have found that it will not idle,has anyone had a similar problem,would it be the fast idler plunger stuck or am i looking in the wrong area,please bear in mind the bike has been standing outside covered for two years.

If it is the idle plunger is it a difficult job ?.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Have you had the carb off? This is the best way to find out what's going on, it might not be the "fast idle" at all have you checked the diaphragm ? Is the slow running jet blocked? All this info should be in the manual. A Haynes manual for your bike should cost no more than £20 odd quid or an old one from ebay even less.

prob two years of dust,dirt and old fuel causing the problems. get the carbs apart and give them a good clean
