Posted November 28, 201410 yr Hello everyone I have a yamaha YA6, it does not exceed the speed of 80 km / h. Electrical or mechanical problem or carburetion?
November 28, 201410 yr Hi Mario " I would think carb , but exhaust may need De-coked, or a rebore if compression low,,, There is a new members section on here ,,pop up an intro,,
November 29, 201410 yr Author On the issue of carburetion. Accelerated more or less at half throttle, the bike is noted as drowned, shot choke but does not exceed 80 km / hr. Could be the main jet or the position of the needle? main jet standard: 190 Needle Position: 2nd. top pilot jet: 30
November 29, 201410 yr Moderator The carb specs are right. They may be worn or, as Blackhat says, need a rebore, new plug/airfilter/genuine jet replacement etc. When new the bike should have reached around 110Kph - but the bike is 45 years old! Amazing technology when new.
November 30, 201410 yr Author Float level is currently 26.2 mm. How is the factory specification? Much does the float level?
December 2, 201410 yr Moderator The book I have to hand does not have the float height but some other specs to help: Spark plug B-6H or M45 Plug gap 0.6 to 0.7mm Points gap 0.3 to 0.35mm Timing 2.5 to 2.6mm before TDC
