More info needed.

If they are loose or the rubbers have perished then yes.

As above, you can't have bare metal pegs I'm afraid on a road bike. :eusa_doh:

My TDR 250 has metal pegs on front , none on rear , passes evrytime no problem , but i reckon if they are designed to have rubbers they must have em

Another tip" if you have a twin seat , you need pillion footpegs, :yeah:

And something for them to hold on to.

Question time then... My bike has bare metal pegs both rider and pillion, so my question would be how that works??

I'm aware that if the rubbers are perished on rubber mounted pegs its an mot failure didn't know about the rest though.

I think it's a case of if they had rubbers then they need to be in good condition if not then it's not a problem, my Suzi had all metal pegs and that passed.

From http://www.motuk.com/Motorcycle%20MOT.asp

  • The FOOTRESTS must have an anti-slip surface

Although http://www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_620.htm just says a missing or insecure footrest is a reason for failure.

Personally, I've had metal studded pegs on my bikes for years and never had a problem.
