August 8, 201410 yr Moderator More info needed. If they are loose or the rubbers have perished then yes.
August 8, 201410 yr As above, you can't have bare metal pegs I'm afraid on a road bike. Not rider pegs, but you can on pillion pegs.
August 8, 201410 yr Moderator My TDR 250 has metal pegs on front , none on rear , passes evrytime no problem , but i reckon if they are designed to have rubbers they must have em
August 8, 201410 yr Author My left side one is worn and scuffed not to the degree of showing metal, I'd upload a picture but not sure how ?
August 11, 201410 yr Another tip" if you have a twin seat , you need pillion footpegs, And something for them to hold on to.
August 14, 201410 yr As above, you can't have bare metal pegs I'm afraid on a road bike. Question time then... My bike has bare metal pegs both rider and pillion, so my question would be how that works?? I'm aware that if the rubbers are perished on rubber mounted pegs its an mot failure didn't know about the rest though.
August 14, 201410 yr I think it's a case of if they had rubbers then they need to be in good condition if not then it's not a problem, my Suzi had all metal pegs and that passed.
August 14, 201410 yr From http://www.motuk.com/Motorcycle%20MOT.asp The FOOTRESTS must have an anti-slip surface Although http://www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_620.htm just says a missing or insecure footrest is a reason for failure. Personally, I've had metal studded pegs on my bikes for years and never had a problem.
