mudcow007
Evenin all i was given an old DT175MX that had been living in someones garden for well over 10 years. it had been there that long ivy had grown through the tank!! plans for the bike are, ideally if all goes well i woudl like it as a greenlaner (hopefully) im not holding much hope though as it maybe too far gone? as i got it took the engine out ive never worked on a 2 stroke before so im looking forward to seeing whats inside the cases - rust i expect!! Noise
My holy mother of god thats in rough condition! For starters (or not) looks as tho that kick start is fucked, its not even returned to the top so either 10 years ago it snapped and thats why its been layed up or at some point someone tried kicking it over and the spring has rotted and snapped. Good luck with this one

Moderator DirtyDT Posted June 22, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 22, 2014 Looks salvageable to me,Just needs some money throwing at it ... I'd agree with that. Most DT175 parts are readily available. Have a read through my Suzi TS250 project on here - it's a bit random but shows the before, and eventually, the after.
