using a tap m7

again im stuck lol. i have a m6 thread thats well fecked so im gonna go next size up to m7 my dilemma is how do i go about it do i drill a 7m hole ten tap it

for metric the drill size is thread size less pitch.

so for an M7 with 1.25 pitch you need a 5.75mm drill bit.

maybe a 5.5mm if it's in aluminium

If the threads have gone you may not be able the tap out to 7mm. Have you thought of recoiling it? this would keep it 6mm.

yeah its for the right side clutch case. ???? im going to use a m7 1.00 so id need 6mm ??? do the drill bit need to be metric as well

I wouldn't tap to 7mm there shouldn't be enough metal left to make a decent thread it will be weak and fail.

Yeh" helicoil kit.. gives you drill bit - tap -insert- tab breaking tool. you can get it right, without guess work,,
