my dt 400mx is extremely load, althought everything looks ok and original...

i'm wondering what the mot-testers will say.. ;-)

is the dt400 known to be that load?

How loud is loud? unless you have a DB tester there's no way of telling is there, you could try standing it next to another 400 and comparing them but unless you know someone nearby that has one that's not a solution is it, as long as the silencer is original equipment and all the baffles are intact then it should not be a problem. :eusa_think:

Dont worry about it. The bike isnt new enough for noise rules. So long as the exhaust is complete and not leaking go wake the dead.

As cynic says,,, no limit , as long as exhaust has " Not For Road Use" stamed on it ,its legal,,, is it induction noise,? or take out the baffle and Wrap it ,, :yeah:

As the answers above, it makes no difference. Loud is good on a dirt bike.

With any 2t motor the bigger the cc the deeper the sound is,if your worried about a coper giving you a hard time 1st dont as said as long as it not stamped not fo road use your ok.

You can get apps for a smart phone for DB testing they aren't 100% but close enough to let you know if you want to know.Alot of the tracks here now have a 98 DB rule but if your smart phone shows 98 and the tester at the track shows 99 they dont give you a hard time the first time they just tell you make sure it meets next time
