Posted January 20, 201411 yr I need to replace the main bearings and have been told that I need to fit C3 clearance bearings. But the bearings in it are not marked C3. Does anybody know if the bearings need to be C3 rated? I,ve had the engine for years and expect that these bearings are the originals.
January 20, 201411 yr Moderator C3 allow a bigger tolerance for expansion when the bearings get hot. The last thing you want is for the bearing to spin in the case. You may want to say hello in the new members section or have a read of this
