stevecarpy Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Hi, when you put crankcase halves together, in my case a 250LC, what sealant do you use. I've seen Yamabond 4 mentioned but it seems hard to get in this country (google search). Cheers
Moderator drewpy Posted December 30, 2013 Moderator Posted December 30, 2013 I used an oldie called wellseal, they used them on the brit iron. you apply with a fine brush either side and let dry, no squelching out between cases as the other sealants do
blackhat250 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I used blue Hylomar, whatever u use , go sparingly,
YPVS TONE Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Yamabond 4 is what Yamaha say to use in their workshop manual for the LC crankcase joint but Threeebond 1104 is the same product http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-BOND-GASKET-SEALANT-1-TUBE-TY-FZ-XJ-R1-TZ-YZ-CBR600-/360491846400?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item53eefd0b00#ht_1120wt_721 Tony
Preload Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I used Yambits sealant last time and it works fine no leaks and its Silver in colour which is a bonus.
Moderator DirtyDT Posted December 31, 2013 Moderator Posted December 31, 2013 I used blue Hylomar, whatever u use , go sparingly, I'm with Blackhat on this. Comes in red also.
