Good evening all

I have bought my son a 2009 xt125x, a week later the speedo has stopped working after ringing my local yamaha dealer for a new one i was shocked to be quoted in excess of £300.00 for a new one, Is there any other speedo that would fit in its place, only paid £800.00 for the bike so was trying to source something cheaper.

Thanks in advance for your help

jim

Hi jim" just go to a bike breaker, or fleabay,,, :welcome:

evening blackhat, i have searched and searched fleabay only comes up with cables, not many scrap yards in my area feel like banging my head against the wall lol

after market would be a lot cheaper buddy, have a look at the wr250f project in the project section.

John fitted one to his bike and set it up on his own...think it was about £100?

Don't buy a yamaha speedo it will just f up again. The XT 125 models are notorious for it. I fitted a trail tech vapour speedo to my XT and it's spot on.

Thank you for you replies, Grouch i have looked up your current speedo seems simple enough to fit, only question is Which model did you purchase as i could not find one to fit the xt 125 x,

plus what did you do with your old wiring,

Thanks again for your help

Jimmy I'm electrically impotent so I paid a garage to fit my speedo, this is the exact one I bought from the same shop. I can recommend them. Whatever you decide don't buy another Yamaha one.
