Can anyone give me a link for a tab washer for a rdlc 350 1980, as my Speedo has stopped working again. And I think the tab has snapped off. Cheers kev. Ps. Today would be nice as it is being stripped down tonight.

Hope you get your parts kev ,but this also raise`s a qwestion,,,,,,,, you guy's can't simply call a locale shop/parts seller tell them what you need and get it the next day or the same day?,,from what your saying would seem you guy`s waite along time to get parts

If I need front pads/ rotors/ calipers for a whatever car I can call/ring them and have them delivered in less than 20 min,,, bike rotors if i call before say 10 am could have them the same day at 3pm if not then first thing in the mornning the next day 8itsh..No delivery charges on car parts bike parts sure I have to go pick them up but it`s only a 8 min drive down the road to the aftermarket parts and a 20 min drive to the dealer

Whats up with this waiting for the post man,I don``t get it,sure you rd is a classic and not that many left but the same drive gear is used on so many bikes .

The only time I have to wait for a part is if it`s not in the country and then it`s only a couple of days

We don't have the same customer service over here DT. Customers seem to be a pain to a lot of places. There are a lot of parts advertised here that don't actually fit the bikes they are advertised for. Chains can be the wrong size, batteries the wrong voltage, cables the wrong fittings and even brake repair kits that have the wrong sized parts in them (I have had all of these and more). This is even from suppliers who "specialise" in a marque.

Especially for classics, you really need to do your homework or check and then check again.

Must be frustrating then and guess I should count myself lucky the guys at the shop I doo most of my busness with do all the double checking and get me my parts right everytime or I wouldn't do bussiness with them, hell they know my phone number and when they answer the phone they say "hello Phil what ya need today"

I would be livid if some one treated me like you say they treat you, here the customer is right even if ther wrong and company's treat there customers right.

Sounds as if a guy wanted to make a good living there he could open a bike parts shop that provided good services and make a killing on repeat customers. The shops here have to make most of there cash in a few months and if I cant ride because some idiot can't look up a part # correctly then I'm going to let them and thier boss know all about why I'm not happy.

These guys exist here in the UK but they are always busy. I think I found a new one recently with the guy who skimmed my rear drum. He bores and wheel builds amongst other things so I am sure he will get some more of my cash.

Ironic thinking about the physical size of our Countries, From where I live in the middle of the Country I can drive anywhere in the UK within about 4 hours (Northern Ireland may take a little longer due to the ferry). In Canada you couldn't reach either East or West coast from the center of the Country if you flew for 4 Hours.

Also cheaper for me to use PowerSportsPlus in the U.S. and pay the postage and import duty than to buy locally.

parts are in , i just have to finish off re-filling the front fork oil then it's being put to bed until squires..

I can't get out of Ontario in 4 hours depending on where I want to go,I can get to the USA faster(2.5 hrs) than I can get to the next province 4.7hrs to Quebeck 17 to Saskatchewan if I run up and around the Great lakes@ 6 ish if I run through Detoilite' Detoryit ..........o piss on it..... the city is a toilite.... you know the one i'm talking about car city,GM Ford Chrysler ect... thats bankrupt

SAD you cant buy cheaper local thats just not right,

The closest I got to Michigan was Minnesota . Flying over the great lakes is amazing. It is like flying over an ocean. Bear in mind that we are about 22 miles - nearest point to nearest point - from France.

Compared to living here you live in a closet,22 miles only get's me to lake Erie to go fishing or Lake Hurron about 6 hrs to Lake Suppieor lake Ontario 2.5 hrs I'm kinda smack dab in the middel of the Great lakes 1/3rd of the worlds fresh watter supply. I can get to many USA port's /city's faster driving the boat than trying to drive around the lakes and the bodar guards are alot more friendly at port's in the USA. But apperently I'm not welcome anymore

I sky dive out of Grandbend in/off Lake Huron and at 9999 feet ( not alowed to go over 10 yet) you can see all the lakes , well for a few seconds, when your droping at 72 feet per second you don't get alot of time to look around Till the shute opens then the view is awsome

Trust me you didn't miss anything michigan was a great city 15-20 yrs ago now it's a toilet burnt out buldings and crack heads Hope they can recover and build it back up but it's going to be a long hall for them,I've hear/seen that they have closed entire areas and converted them back to farm land because they can't support the infrastructure. The once mighty USA is hurting and the rippel effect will be felt by all, guess thats why you can buy parts cheaper there and ship them,But in the long run it will only hurt your econmie The American's were the largest consumers and now ...well you get the picture.

Later Newman and sorry for Hijacking your thread Kev
