Ultimately the biggest warning you'll get is engine seizure...yikes

Best to fit a clear tube between the pump output and the carb and any air bubbles present in this tube should be investigated

Also the seals can dislodge or start to leak...If the pump drive seal leaks badly your gearbox oil level will be increased by the leaking 2T oil

The pump piston also has a small seal and if that one is leaking you will see 2T oil in the pump compartment

The pump should be bled though do you know the bleeding procedure?

Personnally I'm a big fan of these pumps myself...far better than premix IMO

so why do you thing your pump is failing?

You will feel the engine starting to nip up a little as well.

As airhead says, keep an eye on the oil line into the pump ensuring no gaps or bubbles

kinda looks like te tach and the pump are drive from a common point... if your tach fails shut it down would be another recommondation
