I recently purchased a Yamaha dt 125 RE 2004, it's been nothing but trouble and all I've done is thrown money at it, it's an amazing bike though regardless I've sorted most of its problems now I'm stumped and was needing some help, the bike never starts very easily and never settled when its idling (revs keep going higher and lower) and just yesterday it feels as if the power band isn't kicking in anymore.. Anybody got any ideas as where to start? Thanks!
May 25, 201311 yr Moderator Hi and welcome. My first suggestion is to say "hello" in the new members section. It helps to get reply's. My second suggestion is to post workshop questions in the workshop area. My advice would be to check the crank seals. Especially the left hand one. It also helps to tell us what you have already tried or done to the bike to eliminate repetition.
May 26, 201311 yr I have heard the crank seals can effect the idle and make the engine smoke a lot! Not going to be a nice job and I have also got to do this Ken
