yam_off
Hi, I have bought old Yamaha SR125 which has not been used for past 10 years. I stripped it down, cleaned, replaced some parts and put back together. Unfortunately it doesn't start. I cleaned carb, checked cables, replaced spark plug, cleaned clutch plates... That was great adventure for a layman girl without a garage, I learned a lot, had some fun, but... Still not starting. With no hope I pushed it to the workshop and I was told that even if I cleaned carb it's still in pretty bad condition and I should replace it. Here's where problem starts. I couldn't find carb for Yamaha SR125 on ebay or in any other online shop. I was told that it doesn't have to be carb especialy made for that bike but a similar for 125 engine will do the job. Problem is that I have no idea what other carb I can use. Does any of you know what other carburettor I can fit to my SR125? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Anna

Moderator DirtyDT Posted April 29, 2013 Moderator Share Posted April 29, 2013 Hi. How sure are you that it is the carb? Even with a really bad, clean, carb you should be getting something. Take a look at this thread and try the diagnosis. Let us know how you get on.
yam_off
Hi guys, that's me back :-) I bought new carburettor but when my brother looked into it he said that carb is fine. What I need to exchange now is valve inlet. It simply fell apart so I need new one. My brother will look for one in town tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes. I'm hoping to hit the road soon :-) Fingers crossed! Thanks for all your help!
