Right,

The college has given us at motorcycle workshop a ybr 125 2007 fuel injected model to take part in a 4 stroke race (lecture is racing it) and given each group £1500

The ybr 125 is currently stock standard

Help with parts which we can get as winner group has 1/4 chance of winning this bike 4 people in group short straw

Hack off the exhaust

Gear up for the kind of track you are racing on.

Cut off everything you don't need

Lose the airbox

Fit a big bore kit (170cc??)

Look at fitting something like a power commander

Or

Fit a R1 engine to it.

The engine itself has to be kept as the standard but we can get bores where can we get the 170 kit from as we was going to order a 150 as it was the biggest we had seen and just a 3 mile strip

Big bore - looks like a ttr one fits LINKY

You want to get as much air and fuel into it as you can.

Weight is key - even take the shocks off and use straight bars to hold it.

Exhaust - header only slice

Gearing - You need to compromise between acceleration and terminal speed. No good getting to 70 quickly to find everything going past you at the 2 mile mark. There are plenty of gearing calculators online.

Astandard race eng thats no fun,I woud have gone with port the head,

totaly lose the charging system ,

shave the crank,

big bore kit,

lighter chain and sprockets 420

slicks and rains

light weight battery

mod the exhaust

wide band o2 sensor and power commander

and as dirty sadi shave everything off not needed

Ok curious....

You have been given a bike to convert to a racer. Each group? Has been given 1500quid.

The winning group has a 1 in 4 chance of winning it. With the lecturer riding it....

Sounds bit odd.

Yeah it does, we don't auctully have the cash and its with money we raised doing mots and repairs and work on bikes as we are open to public
