obriens65 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I was there on Sunday. It's always a good day at the Ace Cafe but great to go up for a Yamaha day. Seeing how people customise their bikes is always a blast.
ExiledBacchus Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Yeh, it was a pretty cool day. their food portions are massive :-) Definitely some beautifully looked after machines out there and a couple of rat Harleys. I'll be heading back up for another visit. Maybe do their Noob Monday night. Where about's in Hants are you?
obriens65 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I'm in Basingstoke. I try to get up to the Ace once a month, time (and money) permitting. I have a daughter who lives not far from there so I kill two birds with one stone, see her and have a day at the Ace. Luckily she's into bikes as well.
obriens65 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Ace corner is just off the North Circular in London. It's the site of the Ace Cafe. http://www.ace-cafe-london.com

Toutsuite Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Oi! That's me in that photo! (First from left) I met members of the Virago and Star Owners Club. Think I might join. Pity you can't see my bike in this pic. It's parked behind these nice people and a couple of other bikes. I think I remember meeting you mr o'brien65...
obriens65 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Oi! That's me in that photo! (First from left) I think I remember meeting you mr o'brien65... If memory serves you were riding a Virago 250. Sorry I don't think I got a pic of it. The TR1 was parked next to the Virago/Star club because it's the bike they were developed from. As for more pix:
Toutsuite Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 If memory serves you were riding a Virago 250. Nope, silver dragstar 650 custom. Somebody took a picture of it! My camera was out of commission that day... But I do remember the granddaddy of the virago and star ranges!
obriens65 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Sorry about the bike mix-up, my bad. There were so many bikes/bikers there that day and I'm getting on a bit, the memory isn't what it was .
ExiledBacchus Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 Cool Im Basingstoke as well, bizarrely I have a daughter that doesn't live far from the Ace. So you must have had a cuppa or two at Loomies as well? I was there on Sunday, brilliant day for a ride. http://www.loomies.co.uk/findus.htm May well be heading back up to The Ace next Tuesday evening a friend is playing there: https://www.facebook.com/events/120900051439473/ Beautiful ride home from Salisbury tonight as well :-)
