Grouch Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I've just recently reapplied ACF-50 to my bike and have decided to clean it every Sunday. After I have washed my bike do I need to reapply ACF-50 again, or after every time I wash it? Cheers
Moderator drewpy Posted January 31, 2013 Moderator Posted January 31, 2013 yes, because you wash it off
Moderator mervin Posted January 31, 2013 Moderator Posted January 31, 2013 I know of adventure bike riders that say they just rinse the worst of the mud off with cold water hose (not high pressure) and then give it a good clean every few months and reaply
Grouch Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 I suppose a tin will still last a while because I apply it With a n 1/2 inch paintbrush. A little bit goes a long way.
Preload Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 You shouldn't need to re-apply every time unless you are using a detergent just rinse off the dirt.
DkD Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 +1 : Given current weather, I hose off the crap after a ride and don't bother with cleaning / reapplying ACF. Then do a proper bike clean every 2/3 weeks with re-applying the ACF-50 then.
clarke Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 The guys on the V-Strom forum I visit are starting to use these guys http://www.allyearbiker.co.uk/ to come and apply ACF-50 to their bikes. Not used myself, but they have some good hints and tips on cleaning bike and applying ACF-50
Campaman Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 As above I only reapply if I use a detergent to wash the bike as the detergent will remove the ACF50 quicker than plain water, if its a quick ride out and it needs a quick wash down, I just hose of with water, no soap.
