wild foamy
my car runs on LPG, try adding ethanol to THAT. just out of interest, how much does that fuel additive cost and who makes it?, i cant help but feel a bit suspicious about this, sounds like another way for some government puppeteered chemical company to get their sticky fingers on my wallet. paulrever
I read about this here; http://125ccbikeclub.awardspace.co.uk/servicing.htm#Ethanol in Petrol Warning Seems to be Bad stuff. Although, the sooner it comes the better, then you'll know at the pump what you're putting in. Pumps are to indicate that there's 10%E.
Sacha
Um, this is probably a dumb question, but were my DT (1976) or G7S (1972) designed for leaded fuel? I hadn't even thought of that. Should I be using the additive? I think I'll be checking the ethanol content from now on. Thanks!
paulrever
http://www.righttoride.co.uk/2012/11/14/ethanol-usa/ Look's like you got 15%, Sacha

Should I be using the additive? I think I'll be checking the ethanol content from now on. Thanks! I asked about ethanol fuels raising combustion temps in my heat seize tread. I'm pretty sure it is part of my and other people's problems in this area. On the Air-Cooled RD forum they speak of casualties at every event due to heat seize. I just didn't realize ethanol was being used to save the UK as well. Sacha, check with your bike shops, I'm sure someone around your area sells non-ethanol fuel. There's even a BP station down the street from me who carries it. At a mark-up, of course. I'm also in the camp with those that say tinkering with the jetting helps a lot with problems with the new fuel formulas, even if you are able to get non-ethanol fuel. Good thread, OGOAB. bennyboy1
petrol has been bought in recent years without much thoughtwe put our trust in individual service stations to have clean tanks and our only choice is whether to have super unleaded or standard unleaded..now we are going to have to keep an eye on the pumps to see what we are putting injust like the old daysI used to run my bikes on 2 star. and my car on either 4 or 5 starthe car would not run on 2 star very well ( toyota celica )looks like we are going back to having a choice of pumps again !!!
