Update;

painter phoned today, he's just finishing off the base paint and ordering the vinyl today.

I picked up the machining job yesterday from MSC (or western rebores) in manchester. top bloke,ex bike racer and checks clearances for you too.

so he puts in a head stud after i snapped mine trying to get it off, swapped over the liners to the ones that match the pistons, honed and skimmed them, then checked all my valves (one was bent)

Took the best valves from the spares motor, then recut the valve head and valves.

Then he skimmed the head all for £200.

love the machine oil smell too

here's the skimmed barrel

and the head work

OK,finally found this thread again.search didn't work

Painter sent some pictures so far and I'm not that convinced on the words yamaha on the side fairing. and I think it needs a racing stripe on the top of the rear cover.

let me know what you think guys

like this

racing strip on the smaller top cover?

not sure on the "yamaha" looks amateur , I think I use "machine" font which looks better. also there's a split in the fairing and the paint isn't flat

he's not got the front fairing or tank done yet

taking the rear shock to KAIS suspension tomorrow to get a new spring and a re-valve to my weight. £210 :o

then I should be picking up the paint hopefully next week as I have Thursday and Friday off, shock will take a week so it should tie in nicely.

just done a re-shim and need 2 x 255mm shims which I've ordered from Wemoto

picking up the paint tomorrow and the rear shock's gonna take another week as they will have to send away for a new spring.

engine completed now and just need to get it in the frame but need the shock and swing arm installed before I can do that.

on the home stretch now :D

yeh Drew make sure you put the side stand down properly, imagine how bad you would have felt if you'd had that paint done last year

picked up the paint from Andys bikes in Ilkeston

then I've fitted the front fairing, which is all I can do till the rear shock gets done

looking good, just a bit wary of damaging the paint (which is going to happen, lets face it)
