hey everyone,

Got a bike today and was told it is a 1983 dt125. it doesn't really look like and 83 the headlight is round but the speedometer is not. It says Dt on the tank. The serial number on both the frame and the engine is 1JY-006116. Can anybody steer me in the right direction. I need parts and want to order the right one.

any help would be much appreciated.

Well according to the lists i have that is a 1985 dt50 m frame number , but that is from CMSNL in europe

Odd merv the m had become the MX by 85

it would appear that model was for the Netherlands , so what the devil the guy has i do not know

Just spent half hour on the usual suspects an drawn a blank so far.

Could do with some pictures. I have a couple of books at home to i'll check them later

I sent the serial to yamaha and they replied saying it is a 1986 DT50. damn i was hoping it was a 125. I am having a real hard time finding a big bore kit for it this side of the pond and no one from your side wants to mail one to Canada.

oh well i'll keep looking. I am away from home but will post a pic when I get back
