Gregge - I have two xj 600 51j bikes like yours, one is fine and in use the other is a project, work stopped on my project bike when I was made redundant last year but I had got as far as all brakes being refurbished and the swing arm rebuilt. I think the forks are ok and the engine is in, only done 17k or so but took the carbs to a specialist as I did not feel comfortable rebuilding them, still have not got them back.

Cost is the main issue and now that I am retired - given up looking for another job at my age, I do not need to get it on the road so it has all gone quiet, it is there in the garage though and it looks like a motorbike, got to fit the exhaust and it needs cogs and a chain, all electrics ok. I hope that one day I will have it running and gradually putting funds by to finish it.
