wvaydavey00 Posted July 15, 2012 Share Posted July 15, 2012 Hi guys - got a few Yams in the family but after some help with daughter's DT50MX - stolen and recovered tore all the dash and clocks off and twisted wires together. Bought a donor bike for bits with spare ignition and clocks. Refitted and electrics working but no spark - it is a CDI model. Is there any way to test CDI for faults and would shorting all 4 ignition wires together cause this to burn out? Got a TY250 majesty, FZ600 and FZR1000 exup between us! Stick the issues up in the workshop section as the new members section is only read by a few of us. Look for any earth that is acting as a kill switch around the ignition and earthing out the coil.
