My chain keeps stretching and becoming very slack, I no im to buy a new one and was told gold ones are probably the best, having googled it though im not really finding much?

How much would you say a worth while chain is going to cost??

Just out of curiosity, who told you gold ones are best?? Colour has nothing to do with its quality, buy the best you can afford. You cant go wrong with a decent o-ring chain though and depending what bike and budget you have you may choose to go for an x-ring but most stick with o-rings.

You will also need to change your sprockets as well otherwise they will ruin your new chain very quickly if they have started to 'hook'

You also need to make sure you get the right pitch and the right amount of links to.

Again depending what bike you have will affect the cost so a bit more info would be great.

chains dont actually stretch, the pivots wear and thats how they become longer, the amount of pivots wear can be greatly reduced with regular lubrication. Look after your new chain better than the old one and it will last longer ;)

When you get your new chain and sprockets, buy a Scottoiler (or other such bit of kit) and your chain will last just about forever
